𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟰: In a significant action against illegal liquor smuggling, Reasi Police today apprehended a person along with a huge quantity of illicit liquor following a brief vehicle chase.
A white Alto K10 vehicle bearing registration number JK20A 0196, driven by Ganesh Kumar S/O Om Prakash R/O Karua, Reasi, was signaled to stop by a police team while it was coming from Thapa Chowk towards Baradari Bridge. However, the driver ignored the signal and fled from the spot.
The police team immediately swung into action and began chasing the vehicle. When the car reached near IRP Chowk, the driver, due to rash and negligent driving, lost control of the vehicle and met with an accident.
Despite the crash, the driver tried to flee on foot but was promptly intercepted and apprehended by the alert police team after a hectic chase.
Upon searching the vehicle, the police recovered 72 bottles of ### Rum and 72 bottles of Special Desi Whiskey, each bottle containing 375 ml, from the vehicle.
On this, a case FIR No. 126/2025 U/S 281 BNS, 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi and further investigation is underway.
The action was taken by the team of Police Station Reasi, led by 𝗦𝗛𝗢 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽. 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 𝗥𝗮𝗼, 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝘆.𝗦𝗣 𝗛𝗾𝗿𝘀. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗦𝗵. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗹. 𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗦𝗵. 𝗜𝗳𝘁𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗱 - 𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦.
