Two young boys, who were cousins, lost their lives in a tragic accident when a Mahindra Bolero Pik-Up load carrier vehicle bearing registration No. JK20A 0385 rolled down into a deep gorge near Dharangli Nallah in Tote on the Gran Morh - Tote road.

The boys have been identified as Multan Singh (Munnu), aged around 25 years, son of Rattan Singh, and Jagdev Singh, aged around 26 years, son of Balwan Singh, both residents of Charalakote, Panchayat, Dangakote, Tehsil Bhomag, District Reasi.

After the accident, the dead bodies were shifted to Sub Centre Dangakote for post-mortem.

Today at around 01:00 hrs, a dumper bearing registration number JK20B-5679, while on its way from Mahore towards Bandhi, met with an accident at Bandi, Mahore.
As per initial reports, two persons sustained injuries in the mishap:
1. Manzoor Ahmed, S/o Mohd Farooq, R/o Acharalla
2. Gulam Ali @ Gulla (Driver), S/o Abdul Ghani, aged about 40 years, R/o Tharal, Tehsil Mahore.

Both the injured were immediately shifted to CHC Mahore for medical treatment.

J&K ACB traps and arrests Rahul Gandotra, JE posted as TA in BDO Office Gulabgarh Mahore, Reasi for demanding and accepting bribe of ₹8000; 03 Cases already registered against him

Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau registered a case FIR No. 03/2026 U/S 07 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 at PS ACB Udhampur against public servant, namely, Rahul Gandotra, JE posted as TA in BDO Office Gulabgarh Mahore District Reasi for demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant.

The said accused public servant demanded the bribe from the complainant for preparation of bill pertaining to the RDD Work executed by the complainant. Since, the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he approached Anti-Corruption Bureau for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law.

On receipt of the compliant, a discreet verification was conducted, which corroborated the demand of bribe by the public servant concerned and accordingly, a case FIR No. 03/2026 U/S 07 of Prevention of Corruption, Act, 1988 was registered at PS ACB Udhampur and investigation was taken-up.

During the course of investigation, a trap team headed by Dy. SP Rank Officer was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and the accused public servant was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe amount of ₹8000 from the complainant in the presence of independent witnesses. The accused was arrested on the spot by the ACB team after following due process of law. The bribe money was also recovered from the possession of accused in presence of independent witnesses associated with the trap team. Moreover, search was also conducted in the house of accused at H.No.215 Ward No. 24 Rehari, Jammu in the presence of Magistrate.

Pertinent to mention here that three FIRs under Prevention of Corruption Act have already been registered against the above named accused in Police Station ACB Udhampur which are under investigation.

Further investigation of the instant case is going on.

YNC Vice President Nawaz Ahmad Khakmat Highlights Road, Electricity, Lighting, and Health Issues in Gulabgarh Constituency
Gulabgarh, Reasi — Nawaz Ahmad Khakmat, Vice President of the Youth National Conference (YNC) for Udhampur-Reasi, visited the 56 Gulabgarh Assembly Constituency to assess public issues and interact with local residents.
During his visit, Mr. Khakmat highlighted major concerns related to poor road connectivity, frequent electricity problems, lack of proper street lighting, and health-related issues affecting the people of the area. Residents expressed their difficulties in accessing basic infrastructure, medical facilities, and reliable power supply.
Mr. Khakmat assured the public that these pressing issues would be raised with the concerned government departments and higher party leadership for early resolution. He stressed the need for immediate improvement in road infrastructure, uninterrupted electricity, enhanced street lighting, and strengthened healthcare services in remote and rural regions.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the National Conference and YNC to work for the welfare, development, and better living conditions of the people in Gulabgarh.
The visit is part of the Youth National Conference’s ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots outreach and address the genuine concerns of the public.
