The Ocean's Seven is a marathon swimming challenge consisting of seven open-water swims across major global channels. It tests a swimmer's endurance against extreme elements like freezing temperatures, powerful currents, and hazardous marine life.
​The Seven Channels & Their Conditions:
​1. North Channel (Ireland-Scotland): Characterized by extremely cold water and strong currents.
​2. Cook Strait (New Zealand): Known for cold water and strong currents.
​3. Moloka'i Channel (Hawaii): Noted for its powerful currents and encounters with jellyfish.
​4. English Channel (England-France): Famous for cold water and highly unpredictable, strong currents.
​5. Catalina Channel (California): Involves swimming through cold water and strong currents.
​6. Tsugaru Strait (Japan): Features fierce currents and the presence of sharks.
​7. Strait of Gibraltar (Spain-Morocco): Known for cold water and strong currents.

ওশেনস সেভেন চ্যালেঞ্জ/ সাত সমুদ্র জয় হলো বিশ্বের সবচেয়ে চ্যালেঞ্জিং সাতটি উন্মুক্ত সমুদ্রের চ্যানেল পাড়ি দেওয়ার একটি ম্যারাথন সাঁতার প্রতিযোগিতা, যা সম্পূর্ণ করতে একজন সাঁতারুকে উত্তর আয়ারল্যান্ড ও স্কটল্যান্ডের মধ্যবর্তী বরফশীতল নর্থ চ্যানেল, নিউজিল্যান্ডের প্রবল স্রোতযুক্ত কুক স্ট্রেট, আমেরিকার হাওয়াই দ্বীপপুঞ্জের উত্তাল মোলোকাই চ্যানেল, ইংল্যান্ড ও ফ্রান্সের মধ্যবর্তী ঐতিহাসিক ইংলিশ চ্যানেল, ক্যালিফোর্নিয়ার গভীর ক্যাটালিনা চ্যানেল, জাপানের অনিশ্চিত স্রোতের সুগারু স্ট্রেট এবং স্পেন ও মরক্কোর মধ্যবর্তী ব্যস্ত জিব্রাল্টার স্ট্রেট অতিক্রম করতে হয়। এই চ্যালেঞ্জের মূল বিশেষত্ব হলো এতে কোনো 'ওয়েটস্যুট' ব্যবহার করা নিষিদ্ধ; সাঁতারুকে কেবল একটি সাধারণ কস্টিউম, ক্যাপ এবং গগলস পরে হাড়কাঁপানো ঠান্ডা থেকে শুরু করে গ্রীষ্মমন্ডলীয় নোনা জল সব ধরনের বৈরী পরিবেশের মোকাবিলা করতে হয়। প্রচণ্ড মানসিক ও শারীরিক ক্লান্তি ছাড়াও সাঁতারুদের বিষাক্ত লায়ন'স মেন জেলিফিশ, Portuguese man o' war এর দংশন, হাঙর, সীল, তিমি মাছ,ডলফিনের উপস্থিতি এবং গভীর রাতে সমুদ্রের বিশালাকার ঢেউ ও প্রতিকূল স্রোতের মতো প্রাণঘাতী বাধার সম্মুখীন হতে হয়। এক একটি চ্যানেল দীর্ঘ ১০ থেকে ২০ ঘণ্টা পর্যন্ত একটানা সাঁতার কাটার এই প্রক্রিয়াটি মূলত মানুষের অবিশ্বাস্য শারীরিক ধৈর্য ও মানসিক দৃঢ়তার এক চূড়ান্ত পরীক্ষা।
২০১৭ থেকে ২০২৫ মধ্যে আমি ছয়টি চ্যানেল পার করেছি (English channel 2017, Catalina channel 2019, Molokai channel 2022,Cook Strait 2024, North channel 2024, The Strait of Gibraltar 2025)
আর একটি চ্যানেল বাকি রয়েছে 🌊💙
