YINGKIONG, May 27: Public support for the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP) continues to grow in Upper Siang district, with more villagers extending their consent in favour of the PFR survey initiative.

In a significant development, 12 members from Ramsing village submitted their consent papers supporting the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the pro-PFR group on March 15, 2026, at the DC Bungalow Conference Hall in Yingkiong.

The consent papers were formally submitted by Dungge Apang, representing the members, to Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner Talo Jerang at his office chamber on Wednesday. The submission took place in the presence of administrative officers, Heads of Departments, and members of the pro-PFR families.

With the latest submission, 31 out of 60 households from Ramsing village have now extended their consent, indicating increasing support and solidarity towards the PFR-related activities and the proposed SUMP in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Talo Jerang appreciated the growing cooperation and participation of local stakeholders in the ongoing process and stated that such collective support would contribute significantly towards developmental progress in the district. (DIPRO)
