Takam Sonia Honoured with Samaj Bandhu Award for Journalism Excellence

Takam Sonia, President of the Arunachal Press Media Welfare Society and founder of Arunbhoomi News Channel, has been conferred the Samaj Bandhu Award for his outstanding contributions to journalism and mass media. The honour was presented during Matri Diwas 2025, organised by M/s Prantik Care the Earth in Veerbhoomi District, West Bengal.

One Lady peddler arrested from Intaya village, Roing [[02/08/2025]]

Under OPERATION DAWN 2.0, while acting on an information from reliable source regarding selling of drugs, ADS Team headed by Dy.SP Roing had raided one house at Intaya village (Roing). Accordingly, one Smt. Juna Linggi, 27 years was arrested from Intaya village on 01/08/2025 with possession of suspected he**ine. Immediately Magistrate was informed and frisking was conducted by Lady Constable in the presence and permission of Town Magistrate Roing as per the laid down formalities including search permission from the accused under u/s 50 of NDPS Act.

Total 3.80 grams of suspected he**in was recovered from her possession and seized it with proper videography on the spot. A case has been registered at PS Roing with C/No. 52/2025 U/S 21(a) NDPS Act and is under further investigation.

Come up and share such inputs to the police for strict action. No one should destroyed our future youths for own gain through such evil business.

The All Idu Mishmi Students’ Union (AIMSU) has served a 25-day ultimatum to the District Administration, demanding the immediate transfer of the current Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Roing. Addressing the media, AIMSU cautioned that if the demand is not met within the stipulated period, they will launch a democratic protest. The union further asserted that any negative fallout from the situation will rest solely on the DFO and the District Administration.
