Two-Day Tour Guide Workshop Held in Anini to Boost Local Tourism
Anini, Dibang Valley – A two-day field trip workshop for aspiring and existing tour guides was successfully conducted in Anini, Dibang Valley district. The programme was organised by the Biodiversity and Tourism Management Society, Anini, in collaboration with the Department of Panchayati Raj, Dibang Valley district.
The programme was headed by ZPC Shri Theko Tayu, who is also the Chairman of the Biodiversity and Tourism Management Society of Dibang Valley district. He informed that the society’s focus areas include culture, agriculture, nature, and adventure tourism, with the aim of promoting the region’s unique identity while creating livelihood opportunities for locals.
Budding entrepreneurs from across the district attended the workshop, which combined classroom training with field visits. Participants learned about sustainable tourism, visitor management, and interpretation of local history, culture, and biodiversity.
Attendees expressed appreciation to the organisers for conducting such a productive event. Officials and trainers emphasised that Anini has immense potential in the tourism sector and that the people of the Dibang region should acquire proper knowledge of hospitality and service standards to host guests effectively, ensuring tourism continues to thrive in the district.
