Dambuk, On December 25, 2024, the 42-Dambuk ST Assembly Constituency observed Good Governance Day and commemorated the 100th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The event, held at the Dambuk Mandal office, was graced by HMLA Puinnyo Apum ji, Shri Toniyang Langkam (District General Secretary, Resource Person), Shri Bijoy Pertin (Mandal President), along with District BJP President, Shakti Kendra Pramukhs, GPCs, GPMs, BJP Morcha Presidents, Karyakartas, all BLC Presidents, and senior public leaders.

The gathering paid tribute to Vajpayee's visionary leadership and key contributions as Prime Minister, particularly his impactful schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and the National Health Mission (NHM). A 1.5 km flag yatra was organized, starting from the Mandal office and concluding at the PMGSY Road in Dambuk Village, symbolizing unity and commitment to good governance.

The Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) Police, under Operation Dawn Mission, have achieved a significant breakthrough in their fight against drug abuse. Two drug peddlers, Gokul Saikia and Bhigu Chabukdhara, were arrested with 5 grams of he**in in the Balijan area near the Sadiya-LDV-Lohit border.

Key Highlights:

Operation Details: The duo was apprehended after hours of surveillance by the ADS team, alongside local sources.

Oversight: The drugs were seized on the spot in the presence of SP Roing, acting as the Gazetted Officer, ensuring all legal protocols were followed.

Legal Action: A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at PS Roing, and further investigation is ongoing.

The LDV Police reaffirm their commitment to keeping the district drug-free and have warned that no one involved in drug activities will be spared. They encourage local student bodies, community-based organizations (CBOs), women’s groups, and self-help groups (SHGs) to actively participate in this mission to combat the drug menace.

The game featured Arzoo FC going head-to-head with Rani FC in an intense showdown. Rani FC showcased a dominant performance, scoring three goals, while Arzoo FC struggled to break through and ended the match without a goal.
The decisive 3-0 victory highlighted Rani FC's tactical brilliance and teamwork, making them strong contenders in the tournament.

The 17th edition of the Naba Ita Pulu Memorial Football Tournament was inaugurated by Honorable MLA Dr. Mohesh Chai of Tezu-Sunpura. The event witnessed the presence of Shri Mama Miso, Honorable ZPC of Lower Dibang Valley District, as the Guest of Honour, and Shri Komji Linggi, ZPM of Roing Headquarters, as a special invitee.

The tournament is centered around the theme "Empower the Youth" with a strong message of "Drugs Choro, Khel Se Joro" (Quit Drugs, Join Sports) to encourage the youth to lead a healthier and more disciplined lifestyle.

The initiative highlights the power of sports as a tool for personal and community development, emphasizing the importance of staying away from substance abuse and channeling energy toward constructive activities.

Komkar, 18th December: The villagers of Komkar in Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh, organized protests against the deployment of armed paramilitary forces in Siang and Upper Siang districts.

This action followed a notification issued by the secretariat office regarding the deployment to assist the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) in conducting a pre-feasibility study for the 12,500 MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project.

The villagers, expressed strong opposition, citing concerns over the region's peace, environmental impact, displacement of communities, and threats to their traditional way of life. They demanded the withdrawal of the forces and suspension of the project, emphasizing their right to protect their land and environment. The protests highlight the growing tension between developmental projects and indigenous communities' rights in the region.

The polls for the tournament were categorized from A to H, and the event proceeded smoothly, marking the beginning of an anticipated and competitive football tournament dedicated to the memory of Naba Ita Pulu.

Many shopkeepers have extended their businesses onto footpaths, concrete drains, and other public areas, leaving little space for pedestrians. Goods are often displayed outside shops, obstructing pathways and forcing residents to walk on roads, increasing the risk of accidents.

Despite repeated public complaints, the encroachment persists, indicating a lack of strict enforcement by local authorities. This calls for the immediate intervention of the administration and public leaders. Stringent measures, including penalties for violators, need to be implemented to reclaim public spaces and ensure safety and convenience for the residents.

Authorities must work collaboratively with shopkeepers to find solutions that balance business needs with public welfare.

2nd Edition of Youth Adventure Camp Flagged Off!

Roing, 15th December, 2024 - The 2nd Edition of the Youth Adventure Camp, to be held at Emewu (Nizamghat) from 15th-18th December, was flagged off by Shri Ramesh Linggi, Director of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, as the Chief Guest from Kera aa Jubilee Ground,Roing. The event was graced by Shri Komji Linggi, ZPM Roing Block, as the Guest of Honour, and Shri Raju Mipi, District Youth Welfare Officer, and Shri Drone Linggi, President of AIMSU, as Special Invitees. The executive members of AIMSU also participated in the ceremony.

A special note of gratitude was extended to the Buffaloes Trail MC, Running Wolf MC, 60 KM/H and Mishmi Takin MC for their active participation, which contributed to the grand success of the opening ceremony.

Objective of the Event

The Youth Adventure Camp aims to provide students with an opportunity to:
• Learn the basics of adventure sports.
• Understand the importance of nature and its conservation.
• Participate in motivational programs and workshops to boost confidence and raise awareness about anti-social activities.

All activities are conducted by professional trainers, experts, and resource persons. Accommodation and food are provided to all participants by the organizers.

Activities During the 4-Day Camp

Adventure Activities: Basic training in rafting, kayaking, ziplining, rock climbing, trekking, and nature walks.
Games and Sports: Volleyball, archery, and fun games.
Fitness Activities: Yoga, meditation, and Zumba dance.
Educational Activities: Career counselling, motivational speeches, workshops on photography, journalism, art and painting, and entrepreneurship.
Awareness Programs: Waste management, child labour and child abuse, nature conservation, and drug and alcohol abuse awareness.
