MAJOR BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPT FOILS BY SAMBA POLICE, RESCUES 18 BOVINES

Samba: September 04, 2025: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagator, Samba Police has successfully foiled major bovine smuggling attempt in the Jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and rescued eighteen (18) bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers. The truck used in the illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized.

Acting on reliable information regarding smuggling of bovines, a Police team of PS Ghagwal Intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK02AU-9918 near village Malani for its checking which was coming via border road. During checking, 18 bovines were found inside the truck which were tied in cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the bovines have been rescued and shifted to a safer place.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 89/2025 u/s 223 BNS 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
