Pratyusha Gupta is an Indian filmmaker and alumna of the London Film School, whose work explores themes of identity, gender, class, and religion. With over six years of experience in documentary, television, and advertising in Mumbai, she brings a realistic yet poetic style to storytelling, focusing on strong, honest characters. Her short film Asylum was commissioned by the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, while Oysters, starring Radhika Apte, was commissioned by Film London and the BFI Network, screening at the East End and Underwire Film Festivals in 2017. Her debut short, Safar, won the Audience Award for Best Short at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and at Stuttgart in 2015. Pratyusha has also worked as a freelance 1st AD on Leena Yadav’s Parched and on various features, shorts, and TV dramas across India and the UK. She was selected for the BFI Network x BAFTA Crew program in 2018 and Directors UK Inspire Mentorship in 2019. Now based in Mumbai, she is developing her debut feature as a writer/director and co-creating an original show with a prominent Indian writer.
