Ramgang| 31July 2025:
An awareness programme focusing on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, and the importance of the Child Helpline Number (1098) was successfully conducted today at NSCBAV Ramgang

The event was organised by the District Child Protection Unit under the Women & Child Development Department with the objective of sensitising students, teachers, and community members about child rights, child protection laws, and the available mechanisms for support and redressal in cases of child abuse or conflict with the law.

Advocate Tutu Dolo, Legal-cum-Probation Officer (LPO) of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), spoke on the Juvenile Justice Act, highlighting the rights of children in need of care and protection and children in conflict with the law. He emphasised the rehabilitative and reformative nature of the JJ system.

Shri Katung Gyadi, Protection Officer (PO) of DCPU, underlined the importance of the Child Helpline Number 1098โ€”a toll-free emergency outreach service for children in distress. He urged the students and teachers to spread awareness about the helpline and use it whenever necessary.

The programme witnessed active participation and was conducted and concluded in a befitting manner, leaving a positive impact on the attendees.

The inaugural of East Kameng Karate Premier League Championship-2025 was successfully held today at the Auditorium, Bebo Colony, Seppa, under the banner of the East Kameng Olympic Association (EKOA). Themed "Drugs Ko Choroh, Sports Se Joroh", the event featured participants across categories: Under-14, Under-17, and Above-17.

Dr. Dari Tallang, Vice-Chairperson of EKSWCO, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour, while Shri Abhinav Kumar, DFO Seppa, served as the Chief Guest. The event also saw the presence of Shri Doyak Singhi (President, EKOA), Shri Shakti Lamgu (General Secretary, EKOA), and Shri Doba Veo (President, AEKDSU) as Special Invitee.

Cash prizes, trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded for both Team and Individual Kumite events, with special trophies given to the highest participating clubs.

The championship was organised by East Kameng Senior Karatekas led by Senpai Bangram Lamnio (Org. Chairman), Shri Solung Dafri (Over-All Incharge), and Senpai Sunday Bokar (Org. Secretary).

An awareness programme focusing on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, and the importance of the Child Helpline Number (1098) was successfully conducted today at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Bana.

The event was organised by the District Child Protection Unit under the Women & Child Development Department with the objective of sensitising students, teachers, and community members about child rights, child protection laws, and the available mechanisms for support and redressal in cases of child abuse or conflict with the law.

Advocate Rajiv Chiri, Member of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), delivered an insightful session on the POCSO Act, explaining its provisions, objectives, and the legal recourse available to child victims of sexual offences.

Advocate Tutu Dolo, Legal-cum-Probation Officer (LPO) of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), spoke on the Juvenile Justice Act, highlighting the rights of children in need of care and protection and children in conflict with the law. He emphasised the rehabilitative and reformative nature of the JJ system.

Shri Katung Gyadi, Protection Officer (PO) of DCPU, underlined the importance of the Child Helpline Number 1098โ€”a toll-free emergency outreach service for children in distress. He urged the students and teachers to spread awareness about the helpline and use it whenever necessary.

The programme witnessed active participation and was conducted and concluded in a befitting manner, leaving a positive impact on the attendees.
