Bengalis love the juicy potatoes of the Kolkata Biryani and making at home gives you the privilege of having more than one potato which you cannot get in a single plate of Biryani at a restaurant. Also eggs which are also sometime served alongside are becoming less and less prevalent among top restaurants and eateries in Kolkata and Bengal.

Aloo diye Murgir Mangsho (Bengali style spicy chicken curry cooked with large potato chunks made using 'Bengali whole gorom moshla' spices, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and yogurt in a medium thick gravy of ginger-garlic paste, onions and tomatoes) | আলু দিয়ে মুরগির মাংস

This Bengali chicken curry has the perfect blend of taste and flavours. Its simple yet rich in flavours. The slight spiciness gives the required kick to the chicken curry.
It can be served with steamed rice or rooti or even porota and luchi. Oh you can have Mangsho-Muri (puffed rice and chicken curry) for a lip-smacking evening meal 😉😋.
