My youth was surging, but my husband was not able to fulfill my physical needs

I myself could not understand when our relationship became a little cold in the hustle and bustle of life. I love Arun very much, but somewhere between his busy life and the responsibilities of the children, the old romance of our world seemed to have been lost. I was not getting the warmth and attention from him that I used to get earlier. Slowly, I started feeling lonely, as if there was a void in a corner of my heart.

During this time, a new face started appearing in our street-Aditya. A passionate, always smiling, 25-year-old boy, who was giving a new light to life with his every style. His energy, his innocence, started attracting me. Whenever I talked to him, I felt a new freshness inside me.

But I also questioned myself, 'Is this right? Why am I getting attracted to Aditya, when I am married and I am truly in love with Arun?' I was unable to explain to myself why all this was happening to me.

I spoke to my closest friend Neetu. She explained to me, 'There comes a time in everyone's life when they feel the need for new emotional and physical energy. But this does not mean that your love for Arun is over. It could be the result of the emotional emptiness that you are feeling in your relationship.'

Neetu's words forced me to think. I realized that perhaps this was just a momentary attraction. I realized that it was time to talk to Arun. I openly shared my feelings with Arun. Arun understood my words and he accepted that somewhere we both had ignored our relationship.

Now we decided that we will take out time for each other, reconnect our feelings. Together we decided to give our relationship the warmth and enthusiasm that was once our identity.

This experience taught me that when you feel emptiness in a relationship, you should talk to each other openly without hesitation. Perhaps this is what keeps every relationship fresh and happy."

न हि कश्चित्क्षणमपि जातु तिष्ठत्यकर्मकृत्।
कार्यते ह्यश: कर्म सर्व प्रकृतिजैर्गुणै:।।

अर्थात- कोई भी मनुष्य क्षण भर भी कर्म किए बिना नहीं रह सकता। सभी प्राणी प्रकृति के अधीन हैं और प्रकृति अपने अनुसार हर प्राणी से कर्म करवाती है और उसके परिणाम भी देती है।

विहाय कामान् य: कर्वान्पुमांश्चरति निस्पृह:।
निर्ममो निरहंकार स शांतिमधिगच्छति।।

अर्थात- जो मनुष्य सभी इच्छाओं व कामनाओं को त्याग कर ममता रहित और अहंकार रहित होकर अपने कर्तव्यों का पालन करता है, उसे ही शांति प्राप्त होती है।

योगस्थ: कुरु कर्माणि संग त्यक्तवा धनंजय।
सिद्धय-सिद्धयो: समो भूत्वा समत्वं योग उच्यते।।

अर्थात- हे धनंजय (अर्जुन)। कर्म न करने का आग्रह त्यागकर, यश-अपयश के विषय में समबुद्धि होकर योगयुक्त होकर, कर्म कर, (क्योंकि) समत्व को ही योग कहते हैं।

नास्ति बुद्धिरयुक्तस्य न चायुक्तस्य भावना।
न चाभावयत: शांतिरशांतस्य कुत: सुखम्।।

अर्थात- योगरहित पुरुष में निश्चय करने की बुद्धि नहीं होती और उसके मन में भावना भी नहीं होती। ऐसे भावनारहित पुरुष को शांति नहीं मिलती और जिसे शांति नहीं, उसे सुख कहां से मिलेगा।

Chapter 1: Arjun Viṣhād Yog
Lamenting the Consequences of War

The Bhagavad Gita, or the song of God, was revealed by Lord Shree Krishna to Arjun on the threshold of the epic war of Mahabharata. A decisive battle between two sets of cousins, the Kauravas and the Pandavas, was just about to commence on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. A detailed account of the reasons that led to such a colossal war; is given under Introduction-The Setting of the Bhagavad Gita.

The Bhagavad Gita is primarily a conversation between Lord Shree Krishna and Arjun. However, the first chapter begins with a dialogue between King Dhritarashtra and his minister Sanjay. Dhritarashtra being blind, could not leave his palace in Hastinapur but was eager to know the ongoings of the battlefield.

Sanjay was a disciple of Sage Ved Vyas, the author of the epic Mahabharata and several other Hindu scriptures. Sage Ved Vyas possessed a mystic ability to see and hear events occurring in distant places. He had bestowed upon Sanjay the miraculous power of distant vision. Therefore, Sanjay could see and hear, what transpired on the battleground of Kurukshetra, and gave a first-hand account to King Dhritarashtra while still being in his palace.
