Dame Helen Mirren is one of the few performers to have achieved the Triple Crown of Acting (Oscar, Emmy, and Tony). She delivered her career-defining performance as Queen Elizabeth II in the biographical drama The Queen, released in the UK on September 15, 2006.
Her portrayal of the monarch during the aftermath of Princess Diana's death swept the awards season, culminating in her Oscar win at the ceremony held on February 25, 2007.
She reprised the role of Elizabeth II on stage in The Audience (2013), for which she won an Olivier Award and a Tony Award, cementing her inextricable link to the British monarchy.
