The Dorbar Shnongs of Nongdiengngan and Nongmahir strongly condemned the incident, stating that the closure of the project has adversely affected the livelihoods of numerous local workers, shopkeepers, and vehicle owners who depended on the project for their income.
Several Khasi workers expressed disappointment over the sudden halt in operations, claiming they have lost their jobs and are yet to receive pending wages for work already completed.
