| CoTU has served a 48-hour ultimatum after the October 2 abduction and torture of Kamginlal Chongloi, an Army HQ employee, warning it may take self-defence measures if culprits are not arrested. The group accused security forces of abandoning buffer zones. KSO South West Sadar Hills also condemned the assault by Arambai Tenggol, demanding urgent MHA intervention and swift justice.

Sapdanga and Lalnghinglova Hmar graced the event. The Jubilee Stone was unveiled, a souvenir released, and calls for unity and excellence were made.

| Around 90 houses were set ablaze late Thursday night after heavily armed Naga miscreants attacked Tengatol village in Assam’s Golaghat district. The attackers used gunfire, grenades, and arson, forcing residents to flee. Villagers allege delayed CRPF response. Assam Police have deployed forces, while officials and MLA Biswajit Phukan condemned the attack. No casualties reported.

Our Story

The power to reason has been the greatest assets of man throughout the ages. If there is one thing that changes and transform our world in ways unconceivable or otherwise, it is the existence of ideas. And yet, the good part is that everybody can join in the exercise of it. Out here in our little world as a community, the growing needs to consolidate and articulate, in expressions as well as in thoughts, about the various difficulties that faces our society(Hmar-Mizo) is something not new or unknown to us. It is greatly felt that the need to maximize ideas, to the extent possible, from persons having knowledge and experience in various fields of our life as a community by creating a kind of ‘inclusive intellectual circle’ to deliberate and pool together views and opinions on issues that are profitable and relevant. Having this end in view, VIRTHLI (www.virthli.in) has been launched with the aim to provide a common table necessary for the conduct of any such serious discussions and talks to take place with the hope that the various ideas and views in the refined form could be used as a guide on our way to a higher and higher stage of development and transformation…
