उन्होंने अपना संपूर्ण जीवन ग्रामीण विकास, शिक्षा और राष्ट्रसेवा को समर्पित कर दिया।
भारतीय संस्कृति और आदर्शों के प्रति उनकी निष्ठा आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए प्रेरणा है।
भारत सरकार ने उन्हें वर्ष 2019 में ‘भारत रत्न’ से सम्मानित कर उनका गौरवपूर्ण योगदान राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया।

A two day brain storming session of Channel Managers and Heads of Programme, News, and Engineering was held at Vigyan Bhawan. Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Union Minister of I&B, in his keynote address, shared a vision to elevate public service broadcasting.

Earlier, Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO, Prasar Bharati, K. Satish Nambudiripad, Director General, Doordarshan, and Priya Kumar, Director General, DD News shared their vision for the way forward. The CEO highlighted a renewed mission to strengthen Doordarshan’s role and reach as India’s public broadcaster. Prithul Kumar Joint Secretary, Minstry of I&B was also present in the concluding session.
