*J&K POLICE IN SHOPIAN ATTACH RESIDENTIAL HOUSE ACQUIRED THROUGH PROCEEDS OF DRUG TRAFFICKING*

August 30: As part of its continued crackdown on narcotics-related activities, Shopian Police have attached a residential house valued at ₹16,77,448/- belonging to Hilal Ahmad Dar Son of Gh Ahmad Dar resident of Vehil Shopian. The property was identified as having been acquired through proceeds generated from the illegal trade of drugs and narcotics. Accordingly, the said property has been attached in connection with FIR No. 80/2024 of Police Station Shopian.

The attachment proceedings were carried out in the presence of duly constituted police team, Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar, ensuring full compliance with all legal procedures and maintaining transparency.

Shopian Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs by targeting both offenders and the financial assets generated through illicit activities. The general public is urged to come forward with any information regarding drug trafficking or related activities.

_Action Against Illegal Mining_
*J&K POLICE IN SHOPIAN SEIZED 02 JCB, 02 DUMPERS & 01 TIPPERS; 02FIRs REGISTERED*

August 29: Continuing its sustained crackdown on illegal mining, Shopian Police seized two JCB, two dumpers and one tipper involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from different areas of the district.

During routine patrolling, a police party from Police Station Zainapora intercepted and seized two JCBs and one Dumper while they were allegedly engaged in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals without valid royalty documents. In this connection, FIR No. 110/2026 registered at Police Station Zainapora under relevant provisions of law and investigations have been initiated.

In a similar action, police party from Police Post Turkwangam intercepted and seized one Dumper and one tipper involved in illegal mining activities without mandatory permissions. In this regard FIR No. 112/2026 under relevant provisions of law was registered in Police Station Zainapora and investigation has been initiated.

Shopian Police reiterated its firm commitment to protecting the districts natural resources and taking strict legal action against individuals involved in illegal mining activities. The general public has been urged to cooperate with the police and report any such unlawful activities. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.

Joint Operation Against Illegal Brick Kilns Conducted in Khansahib
Khansahib, August 28: A joint enforcement operation was conducted today by the Police and Sub-Divisional Administration Khansahib against illegal brick kilns operating without requisite permissions in various areas of the sub-division.
The joint team, led by SDM Khansahib Shri Jahangir Ahmad Giri, along with SDPO Khansahib Sakib Gani, Tehsildar Khansahib Moin Azhar Kakroo, concerned SHOs and other officials, carried out inspections of brick kilns found operating without valid permissions and requisite clearances.
During the inspection, the concerned operators were directed to immediately stop all operations and were warned against carrying out any further activity in violation of the prescribed rules and regulations.
The operators were also instructed to clear the dues of the labourers and disengage them at the sites and completely cease operations within one day. The enforcement team made it clear that failure to comply with the directions would invite strict legal and administrative action, including demolition/removal of illegal structures and assets established in violation of the law.
The administration reiterated that such enforcement measures are aimed at ensuring strict compliance with government regulations, protecting public resources and maintaining environmental and administrative discipline across the sub-division.
The Sub-Divisional Administration further warned that no unauthorized brick kiln activity will be permitted and that strict action will be taken against violators as per the applicable rules.
