*ACTION AGAINST ILLEGAL MINING: SHOPIAN POLICE SEIZE TWO JCBs; FIR REGISTERED*

November 30```````In its sustained efforts to curb illegal mining activities, Shopian Police have seized two JCBs involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from the Turkwangam area.

During routine patrolling, a police party from Police Post Turkwangam intercepted two JCBs found extracting minerals illegally without valid royalty documents. Accordingly, FIR No. 119/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Zainapora and investigation has been initiated.

Shopian Police reiterate their commitment to safeguarding the district’s natural resources and ensuring strict action against those involved in illegal mining. The public is urged to extend cooperation by reporting such activities. The identity of informants will be kept confidential, and stringent legal action shall be taken against violators```````

*VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT ORGANISED BY SHOPIAN POLICE CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY*

November 29: Under the aegis of the Civic Action Programme (CAP), Shopian Police organised a Knockout Volleyball Tournament at Imamsahib. The tournament, which commenced on 25th November 2025 and featured seven participating teams, concluded today with a colourful and vibrant closing ceremony.

The tournament was inaugurated by SSP Shopian, Sh. Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary-JKPS. The final match was played between Super Strikers Shopian and Junior Strikers Nagbal, with Super Strikers Shopian clinching the title after a close 3–2 victory. During the closing ceremony, SSP Shopian distributed cash prizes and trophies to the winners and runners-up, acknowledging their hard work and sportsmanship.

The event was attended by DySP DAR Shopian, DySP PC Imamsahib, SHO PS Imamsahib, along with a large gathering of spectators and sports enthusiasts from across the district and nearby areas. The participants were encouraged and assured that Shopian Police remains committed to supporting youth engagement and will continue organising such events in the future.

*SHOPIAN POLICE OBSERVE CONSTITUTION DAY ACROSS DISTRICT SHOPIAN*

November 26: Shopian Police observed Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) with utmost solemnity and dedication across all police establishments of District Police Shopian. The event marked the commemoration of the adoption of the Constitution of India and reaffirmed the commitment of police personnel to uphold its core values.

At District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian, Addl. SP Shopian, Sh. Rameez Rashid Bhat-JKPS, administered the Oath of the Preamble of the Constitution of India to all officers and officials, who collectively reiterated their resolve to uphold the principles of Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.

As part of the observance, similar oath ceremonies were conducted at all Police Stations and Police Posts across the district, where respective jurisdictional officers led their personnel in reading the Preamble.

Officers highlighted the significance of the Constitution as the guiding framework of the nation and emphasized the responsibility of J&K Police in safeguarding constitutional rights, ensuring transparent policing and promoting national unity and integrity. They urged all personnel to continue serving the public with honesty, impartiality and professionalism in alignment with constitutional values.

Constitution Day was observed at the District Court Complex Shopian today. The District Legal Services Authority organised the event,Judges, lawyers and staff participated in the programme.

Officials read the Preamble and highlighted the values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. They urged participants to uphold constitutional duties in daily work. They stressed the need to promote legal awareness in every village.

November 25: Under the aegis of SSP Shopian Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary-JKPS, Shopian Police today inaugurated a Volleyball Knockout Tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP). Different teams from the area are participating in the event, showcasing strong enthusiasm and competitive spirit. The inaugural match, held at Imamsahib, drew energetic participation from young players.
