Former Minister G.H. Hassan Khan Warns: Shifting Dy CEO Office to Chitragam Will Create Law and Order Crisis
16 July: Former Minister G.H. Hassan Khan has strongly condemned the decision to shift the office of the Deputy Chief Education Officer (Dy CEO) to Chitragam, calling it a provocative and irresponsible move by the National Conference (NC)-led government.
In a strongly worded statement, Khan said, “Decisions like shifting the Dy CEO office to politically motivated locations like Chitragam only add fuel to fire. These are the kind of actions that push youth towards agitation and stone pelting. We have seen in the past how NC’s arbitrary decisions have created law and order problems in the area."
He further warned that if the decision is not immediately reversed, it could spark serious unrest across the district of Shopian. “This is not an administrative reshuffle — this is a deliberate attempt to provoke people and disrupt peace. The government must act wisely and put public convenience and stability above political interests,” Khan added.
The former minister urged the administration to reconsider the move and restore the Dy CEO office to its original and more accessible location, in order to avoid further alienation of the public.
