The second tranche of election-related assistance from India, which includes more than 250 SUVs and double-cab pickups, was ceremonially handed over to the Government of Nepal today by the Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, in the presence of the Finance Minister of Nepal, Rameshore Prasad Khanal and Acting Chief Election Commissioner, Ram Prasad Bhandari of the Election Commission, Nepal.
Based upon Government of Nepal’s request, the Government of India is gifting vehicles and other supplies for preparations related to the upcoming elections. The first tranche of such assistance was delivered on 20 January 2026, and further deliveries are expected in the coming weeks.
