An alleged violent incident was reported at Udharbond Uttarpara following an objection to devotional songs being played at a gym.
On Saturday night, people were reportedly working out at Om Sai Gym(Udharbond )while Hanuman devotional songs were being played. At the time, Azharul Islam , a resident of Hurauli in Udharbond, reportedly came to the gym and asked gym instructor Pritam Deb to stop the devotional song.
According to the reported account, Pritam responded that exercising while listening to Hanuman bhajans was a good thing. However, Azharul allegedly objected, stating that he had an issue with the song.
The argument reportedly escalated, following which Azharul allegedly pushed Pritam, causing him to fall. Pritam reportedly sustained a head injury and began bleeding. People present at the gym rushed to the spot, and the police were informed.
Later on Saturday evening, a complaint was reportedly lodged against Azharul at Udharbond Police Station. Tension has reportedly prevailed in the area following the incident.
