Environment Day 2026 Celebration
Organized by: Kurseong Forest Division, Bagdogra Range
*Theme:* _“Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”_

The Environment Day 2026 celebration was successfully organized by the Kurseong Forest Division, Bagdogra Range, under the theme _“Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.”_

*Key highlights of the program:*

1. *Address by Range Officer:* Mr. Sonam Bhutia, Range Officer of Bagdogra Forest Department, explained the significance of the _“Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”_ initiative introduced by the Government for Environment Day 2026. He emphasized the importance of trees, maintaining a clean environment, and solid waste management. He also spoke about the significance of 5th June, World Environment Day.

2. *Plantation Drive:* Following the address, each participant received a sapling, and a joint plantation drive was conducted.

3. *Children’s Activities:* A drawing competition was organized for children after the plantation drive to encourage creativity and environmental awareness.

4. *Nukkad Natak Performance:* Child leaders from Gungaram T.G., Seva Kendra Siliguri, presented a _nukkad natak_ on the theme _“Nashe ko na kahe aur zindagi ko ha kahe.”_ The performance was well received and appreciated by all attendees.

5. *Vote of Thanks:* CPW Soina, on behalf of Seva Kendra, expressed gratitude to the Kurseong Forest Division, Bagdogra Range, for the invitation and for providing a platform for the nukkad natak. Range Officer Mr. Sonam Bhutia also thanked Seva Kendra Siliguri for the impactful performance and announced that the winners of the drawing competition would be invited to the office.
