Siliguri Karateka Rizong Tamang to Represent West Bengal at Senior National Championship
From Siliguri in Darjeeling District, karateka Rizong Tamang has once again created history by being selected to represent West Bengal in the upcoming Senior National Karate Championship, which will be held in Delhi from 26th February to 1st March.
Tamang will compete in the Senior Male Individual Kata event. With this selection, he will be representing West Bengal at the Senior National Championship for the sixth time, bringing pride to the region and the state.
He has already achieved notable success at the national level by winning Bronze medals in the Senior National Championships in 2019, 2022, and 2024, representing West Bengal.
Tamang expressed his gratitude to his coach and mentor Hanshi Premjit Sen for his constant guidance and support. He also remembered his late mother Lucky Tamang and thanked his father for always standing by him and supporting his karate journey.
He further thanked the Karate Association of Bengal for providing continuous support to athletes through sponsorship and insurance benefits, and also expressed gratitude to All India Seishinkai Sh*to-Ryu for their long-standing encouragement and sponsorship for players.
Tamang said he will give his best to bring more glory to West Bengal at the upcoming national championship.
