For the upcoming Bengal Super League, former Mohun Bagan Brazilian forward José Ramirez Barreto has been appointed as the head coach of Howrah Hooghly Warriors. Earlier, the 49-year-old coach worked at the Reliance Foundation Young Champs Academy. In the inaugural ISL, Mohun Bagan’s ‘Green Parrot’ served as the assistant coach of Atlético de Kolkata.

At the same time, Howrah Hooghly Warriors has appointed former India national team goalkeeper Sangram Mukherjee as the goalkeeping coach. The 43-year-old Sangram was also a teammate of Barreto at Mohun Bagan during his playing days. He has also played for East Bengal, Salgaocar SC, and Southern Samity. Most recently, he was working as the goalkeeping coach at Bolpur’s Copa Football Academy. Now he will be seen coaching with his former teammate in their new team.

10-Men Nabin Sangha Clinch Thrilling Win Over Rabindra Sangha in Super 4 Showdown
Kanchenjunga Stadium, Siliguri – In a dramatic Super 4 encounter of the Siliguri 1st Division League, Nabin Sangha (NS) pulled off a sensational 2-1 victory over Rabindra Sangha (RS) despite being reduced to 10 men.

RS took an early lead with David ( #07) scoring in the 19th minute. Nabin Sangha responded almost instantly as Pariwes Chhetri ( #07) found the net in the 20th minute to level the score.

The match took a tense turn when Siddar Chhetri of Nabin Sangha received a red card, forcing NS to play with 10 men. However, showing great resilience and fighting spirit, Rohit urow ( #15) scored a brilliant winner in the 77th minute to seal the match for NS.

Pariwes Chhetri was awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding performance under pressure.

The match, organized by Siliguri Mahakuma Krira Parishad, was held at the Kanchenjunga Stadium, with a strong turnout of passionate football fans.

Manjeet Eleven Advances to Quarterfinals
26 July, Salugara – The Independence Day Knockout Football Tournament, organized by Salugara Netra Bindu Sangha, kicked off on Saturday. In today’s opening match held at Salugara Ground, Manjeet Eleven defeated Taranjubari FC by 1-0 to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.

The only and winning goal of the match was scored by Ronik Rai in the 62nd minute. For his excellent performance, Ronik Rai was declared the Player of the Match.

A total of 16 teams are participating in the tournament. The two semifinals are scheduled for 10th and 12th August, and the final will be played on 15th August.
