Today,Minister of Defence Shri Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated the 10 km Goskhan Dara to Sirwani Road, marking a significant milestone in infrastructure development. The event was attended by Hon'ble Minister of Roads and Bridges,Cum Area MLA 17-khamdong Singtam Constituency Shri NB Dahal.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of army Personnel,Singtam Nagar Panchayat councillor members, and other dignitaries, highlighting the importance of this road project for the region. Uniforms, Licenses, and Fair Rates: New Guidelines Announced for Singtam Porters

Singtam, May 3 – A crucial meeting regarding the regulation of porter services in Singtam was convened yesterday at the Community Hall of the Singtam Nagar Panchayat Office. The session, chaired by the Hon’ble Municipal President, saw participation from local Councillors, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Singtam Police Station, the Municipal Executive Officer (MEO), and the Bazaar Inspector.

Key Decisions Finalized:
1. Mandatory Uniforms – All porters must wear designated uniforms and visibly display their token numbers while on duty to ensure easy identification and accountability.
2. Licensing Requirement – Only porters with valid licenses will be permitted to operate. These licenses must be carried at all times during work.
3. Standardized Service Rates – Uniform porter rates will be established and strictly implemented by the Singtam Nagar Panchayat in coordination with the Singtam Police to prevent overcharging and ensure fair wages.

These steps aim to bring greater discipline, transparency, and fairness to porter services in the town.
