NHIDCL Gangtok Regional Office Organizes Inception Day Training Program on Quality Improvement of Highways in Hills

Gangtok, July 5:
The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL), Gangtok Regional Office, today organized an Inception Day Training Program on Quality Improvement of Highways in Hills at its regional office premises.

The programme was chaired by the Hon’ble Minister for Roads and Bridges, Shri N.B. Dahal, and witnessed the gracious presence of the Executive Director of NHIDCL Gangtok Regional Office, General Manager, along with senior officials and staff.

The training aimed to enhance knowledge and practices related to highway construction and maintenance in hilly terrains, with a focus on improving quality and sustainability.

Shri NB Dahal and MLA Tenzing Lamtha Inspect Infrastructure Projects in Syari

Roads and Bridges Minister NB Dahal and Syari MLA Tenzing Lamtha, accompanied by Zilla Panchayat member Dhan Maya Rai and local Panchayat representatives, carried out a joint inspection of key infrastructure works in Syari Constituency.

The team first visited the Lagamthang–Upper Syari road via Kopibari, aimed at improving local connectivity. Both the Minister and the MLA reviewed the project’s progress and highlighted the need for timely and quality completion.

Following this, the delegation inspected the ongoing construction of the Bhusuk bridge. Officials were directed to maintain construction standards and avoid unnecessary delays.

The inspection was part of a broader effort to assess on-ground progress, identify challenges, and ensure that the projects move forward in line with public expectations.

Sikkim Armed Police Display Readiness During VIP Visit to Pangthang Post

Gangtok: An impressive arms display and operational readiness was showcased today at the Sikkim Armed Police (SAP) Post in Pangthang, Gangtok. The event was attended by Hon’ble Minister Shri Nar Bahadur Dahal, Hon’ble MLA Shri Erung Tenzing Lepcha, Singtam Nagar Panchayat President Shri Suresh Tamang, and SIMFED Chairman Shri Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia.
