On Tuesday, the rates of Commercial LPG cylinders of 19 Kg have been reduced, with oil marketing companies deciding to slash the prices by Rs 58.50.

It is learnt that the move has brought much-needed respite to commercial users such as hotels, restaurants, and businesses.

Besides, prices of domestic 14.2 kg LPG cylinders that are most common in households will remain same.

This leaves the household under continued pressure regardless of repeated calls for relief.

This marks the fourth price cut since March 2025, when commercial LPG saw a Rs 6 surge after a marginal Rs 7 reduction in February.

Massive Anti-Cannabis Drive Launched in Drugmulla on DC Kupwara’s Directions

Kupwara, July 1:
In pursuance of the directions issued by the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, a joint practical drive against the illegal cultivation of wild cannabis was conducted today in Drugmulla. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Tehsildar Dragmulla, Mr. Syed Basharat Rasool, in close coordination with the Excise Department, Police, Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, and with active participation of local residents.

The drive focused on the identification and destruction of wild cannabis growth as part of the district administration’s ongoing campaign against drug abuse and narcotics-related cultivation.

On the occasion, Tehsildar Dragmulla appealed to the general public to actively support such initiatives and to come forward in the fight against this growing menace. He urged citizens to not only participate in future drives but also intimate the authorities in case they come across any wild or cultivated growth of cannabis in their vicinity, assuring that all such inputs would be dealt with promptly and confidentially.

The administration reiterated its commitment to sustain such efforts across the region to promote a drug-free and healthier society.

Srinagar, June 30 (KNO): In a major political development, Peoples Conference, Justice & Development Front and Peoples Democratic Front have joined hands to form an alliance.

Addressing a news conference, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), leadership of the three parties announced formation of the “People’s Alliance for Change”.

The alliance has the potential to be main Kashmir-based opposition to the ruling NC-led alliance given the traditional votebank of Peoples Conference and proscribed JeI which was a force to reckon on Kashmir’s political landscape till 1987 polls.

Hakim Muhammad Yasin’s PDF has significant influence in Khanasahab area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

With this consolidation, the alliance aims to pose a formidable challenge to the ruling NC—led alliance which swept 2024 assembly polls—(KNO)

راجوار، 30 جون:

شمالی کشمیر کے ضلع کپواڑہ کے راجوار علاقے کے رہنزب میں آج ایک المناک سڑک حادثے میں ایک ٹپر الٹنے سے ڈرائیور کی موقع پر ہی موت واقع ہو گئی۔

حادثے کی اطلاع ملتے ہی پولیس کی ٹیم فوری طور پر موقع پر پہنچی اور زخمی ڈرائیور کو خون میں لت پت حالت میں ریسکیو کر کے جی ایم سی ہندوارہ منتقل کیا گیا۔ تاہم ڈاکٹروں نے اُسے اسپتال پہنچنے پر مردہ قرار دے دیا۔

ڈرائیور کی موت کی خبر اس کے آبائی گاؤں پہنچی تو وہاں کہرام مچ گیا، اہلِ خانہ غم سے نڈھال ہو گئے۔

پولیس نے حادثے کی تحقیقات شروع کر دی ہیں۔
