1975 to 2025 — The 50-Year Dream Finally Fulfilled! 🏆🇮🇳
Imagine a time when India’s women cricketers had no jerseys, no sponsors — only a dream — to play for their country.
It all began in 1975, when the Women’s Cricket Association of India (WCAI) was formed, and India played its very first international match against the Australia Under-25 team.
A year later, in 1976, India played its first Test match against the West Indies in Bengaluru — the beginning of a journey that would define generations.
Then came the legends who carried that dream forward —
Mithali Raj taught patience,
Jhulan Goswami brought fire,
Harmanpreet Kaur showed passion,
and Smriti Mandhana gave the nation pride.
In 2005, India reached its first-ever World Cup final.
In 2017, the heartbreaking loss in England left millions in tears — but that defeat lit a fire across the nation.
And then came the year we had all been waiting for — 2025!
At Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, under the fearless captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, India defeated South Africa to win the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025!
With Shafali Verma’s explosive innings, Deepti Sharma’s brilliant bowling, and the team’s unbreakable unity — India made history.
From the first ball in 1975 to the trophy in 2025 —
this isn’t just the story of cricket,
it’s the story of Indian women’s power, resilience, and the triumph of a dream 50 years in the making. 💙🏏🔥
