ASP State Media Incharge Zahid Ahmad Haji Slams Cosmetic Food Safety Measures, Demands Probe into Adulterated Eggs in J&K

Srinagar, 14 Dec: Ambedkar Samaj Party (ASP) State Media Incharge Zahid Ahmad Haji has raised serious concerns over the alleged circulation of adulterated eggs in local markets, warning that food safety in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be reduced to token raids and temporary bans.

In a strong statement issued here, Haji said the government’s casual and reactive approach to food safety is putting public health at grave risk. “Food safety cannot be managed through optics. Such cosmetic measures allow unsafe, substandard and adulterated food to circulate freely, endangering lives,” he said.

Haji called for an urgent and thorough investigation into reports suggesting the presence of suspected carcinogenic residues in eggs being sold across several areas. He stressed that the recurring detection of unsafe food items points to a deep failure in enforcement, monitoring and accountability. “Selective action after public outrage is not governance. It is negligence. Food safety requires continuous vigilance, strict enforcement and zero tolerance,” he asserted.

Emphasising the seriousness of the issue, Haji urged the government to order scientific testing without any delay. He said only a detailed examination can confirm whether harmful chemicals or synthetic substances are being used. “This matter is directly linked to human safety and cannot be ignored under any circumstances,” he added.

The ASP leader said the possibility of contaminated eggs reaching households has created fear and anxiety among consumers. He noted that negligence in food regulation not only threatens lives but also erodes public trust in the market system. He appealed to the administration to take strict action against those found responsible for adulteration.

Haji also called on the health and food safety departments to intensify market inspections and ensure that all essential food items strictly meet safety standards. According to him, strong and regular monitoring is the only way to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Stating that food safety must be treated as a public health priority, Haji urged the authorities to release test results at the earliest to keep the public informed and reassured. “The aim is simple: protect citizens from harmful products and maintain confidence in everyday food supplies,” he said.

The Ambedkar Samaj Party has strongly urged the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to personally intervene in the matter and take immediate, decisive action. The party has demanded a time-bound and comprehensive audit of the food safety mechanism, fixing responsibility at all levels, and making all food test reports public in a transparent manner. It further called for strict legal action and exemplary punishment for anyone found endangering public health, without any dilution.

Srinagar ,09 Dec:- *Shri Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organisation) of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and Sheikh Muneer, North Kashmir Incharge of the Good Governance Research and Development (GGRD) Cell, said the party’s focus on strengthening GGRD units across North Kashmir is an important step toward resolving long-pending public issues. They said these units help bridge the gap between citizens and the administration, especially in far-flung areas where services often reach late. According to them, accountable and responsive governance is key to ensuring development reaches every household.*

Sheikh Muneer also spoke about the new confidence among Kashmiri girls in the 21st century. He said the region is witnessing a social shift where girls are showing determination in academics, sports, and community leadership. Improved access to education and growing family support have opened opportunities that were once out of reach. He said this progress signals a strong, aware generation shaping the future of the Union Territory.

Talking about “From Classrooms to Competitive Exams,” he said young women are clearing national-level tests and securing top positions. Better coaching centres, online learning, and career counselling are helping them grow. Many girls from remote villages are proving that talent thrives even in the toughest conditions. Their achievements continue to inspire thousands of students across Jammu and Kashmir.

On “Breaking Barriers: Stories of Young Women Leading New Kashmir,” Muneer highlighted the increasing presence of young women in entrepreneurship, technology, arts, and social activism. From launching home-grown ventures to taking up leadership roles, their journeys reflect resilience and ambition. He said these examples encourage more girls to step forward and pursue their dreams.

He added that the aspirations and achievements of young girls in J&K show a broader transformation. Their success is not limited to studies. They are excelling in sports, cultural activities, and innovation. This growing confidence marks a society that is more inclusive, aware, and supportive of equal opportunities.

Speaking on “Beyond Limits,” Muneer said young women today are developing strong leadership qualities and personal maturity. Schools, teachers, and community organisations are helping build these values. With exposure, technology, and proper guidance, girls are becoming independent and ready for future challenges.

Shri Ashok Koul said the GGRD Cell is becoming an important pillar of the BJP’s governance outreach in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the cell provides a structured platform to listen to public concerns, review ground realities, and suggest practical reforms to the administration. The goal is to reduce delays in grievance redressal, improve transparency, and ensure people in every village feel heard. He said the GGRD teams are working closely with local communities to identify gaps in water supply, electricity, health care, and road connectivity, and to push for timely solutions.

He added that the BJP will continue expanding these units across the region to strengthen public engagement and build trust. He said this effort reflects the party’s long-term commitment to good governance, development, and citizen-centric policymaking.

Tauseef Irshad Khan, Youth Leader of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, proudly belongs to a respected political family of Rafiabad. He is the grandson of Jinab Late Gh. Mohammad Khan, former MLA Rafiabad, who served under the banner of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference. Late Gh. Mohammad Khan is remembered as one of the most dedicated and honest political figures in the political history of Jammu & Kashmir. His commitment to public service and his integrity have earned him a permanent place in the history of Rafiabad.

From building hospitals and roads to implementing PHE schemes, improving schools, and uplifting every corner of Rafiabad, Late Gh. Mohammad Khan treated politics not as a profession but as an act of devotion. He always taught that “politics is not about power — it is about serving people.” Inspired by these principles, Tauseef Irshad Khan aims to walk in his grandfather’s footsteps and dedicate his life to public service.

Tauseef began his political journey in 2021 as an independent social activist, working at the grassroots level for the welfare of the people. Later, he joined the Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party when it was established by Altaf Bukhari. He continued his public service there, but with time, he felt the party was no longer aligned with the real spirit of serving the people and was instead moving closer to the BJP’s agenda. For this reason, he soon decided to part ways with the Apni Party.

During the recent Assembly Elections, Tauseef Irshad Khan formally joined the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference in the presence of Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and several senior leaders. Since then, he has strengthened his commitment to ground-level work and people-centric politics.

Tauseef Irshad Khan reaffirms that serving the people of Jammu & Kashmir is his lifelong mission. He remains steadfast in his promise to uphold honesty, dedication, and public service — the values inherited from his grandfather. With sincerity and strong determination, he pledges to continue working for the welfare, development, and dignity of the people of Rafiabad and the entire Union Territory.

“My only goal is to serve the people. I will dedicate my whole life to public service, just as my grandfather did.” – Tauseef Irshad Khan

BJP’s Governance Cell Unveils New Email for Direct Public Outreach

Sheikh Muneer and Mir Shahid say the initiative will strengthen communication between the public and the administration.

Baramulla, Nov 30:The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Good Governance Research and Development Cell (GGRD) has launched a dedicated email address to make grievance redressal simpler and more accessible for people across the district. In a joint statement, Sheikh Muneer, North Kashmir Incharge GGRD, and Mir Shahid, District Incharge GGRD Baramulla, announced that the new email, [email protected], will serve as a direct channel for citizens to share their concerns with the GGRD team for timely action.

Sheikh Muneer said the initiative reflects the GGRD’s ongoing efforts to build transparent and accountable systems at the grassroots level. He said many people hesitate to raise issues because they are unsure where to report them, and this email will offer a clear and reliable point of contact. He added that the platform will especially benefit individuals who cannot physically visit government offices, giving them an easy way to reach out for help.

He also said the email will be monitored regularly and every complaint will be forwarded to the concerned department without delay. According to him, the GGRD is committed to ensuring that each grievance is acknowledged, tracked, and resolved, which aligns with the BJP’s vision of responsive and citizen-focused governance.

Mir Shahid described the move as an important step toward improving communication between the public and the administration. He said the GGRD has been collecting feedback from different parts of Baramulla, and many residents highlighted the need for a digital platform where they could share their concerns quickly. He noted that the new system will help people from even remote pockets of the district access grievance redressal without unnecessary hurdles.

He added that the team will remain fully dedicated to addressing issues related to essential services, development works, and welfare schemes. He encouraged citizens to use the new email freely and assured them that no complaint will be overlooked. According to him, the GGRD will continue working to strengthen public trust and support a more efficient and people-friendly governance structure.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Youth Leader, Tauseef Irshad Ahmad, extends heartfelt congratulations to Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Mr. Javid Ahmad Dar for his continuous, dedicated, and visionary development work across Jammu & Kashmir, especially in Rafiabad. Even during the harsh winter season, when most developmental activities slow down, Javid Sahab’s commitment remains unwavering. His efforts are visible everywhere — from towns to remote villages, including my own village Ladoora, Rafiabad.

Under his dynamic leadership, multiple developmental projects are progressing at an impressive pace. In Ladoora and the surrounding areas, significant improvements can be seen in:

• Development of playgrounds for youth and sports activities
• Upgradation of Rafiabad highway roads and inner-link village roads
• Construction and repair of drainage systems for better sanitation and water management
• Strengthening of electricity infrastructure, extremely important during winter months

One of the most impactful achievements is the improvement in the power supply. Javid Sahab is personally ensuring the upgradation of electricity transformers, distribution lines, and local power networks, so that people do not face hardships in the cold season. His dedication proves that he is not just doing politics — he is performing a service, an ibadat, for the people.

The people of Rafiabad and the entire region are witnessing real change on the ground. Therefore, everyone should support our Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Javid Ahmad Dar and the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference at the grassroots level, so that this momentum of development continues with even greater strength.

May Allah bless Hon’ble Minister Javid Ahmad Dar with more power, success, and wisdom to continue serving our community with devotion and sincerity.
