SBSP State President Vivek Bali Expresses Deep Concern Over Kishtwar Cloudburst, Urges Swift Relief Measures

Srinagar, August 14: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) State President Vivek Bali on Thursday expressed deep concern over the devastating cloudburst in Kishtwar district, which triggered massive flash floods along the route of the Shree Machail Mata Yatra.

The tragedy struck Chasoti village in the Padder region, claiming more than 30 lives and leaving at least 100 people injured. Rescue operations are in full swing, with evacuation efforts underway to shift residents to safer areas. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local administration are working round-the-clock to locate the missing and provide immediate medical assistance to the injured.

The disaster has severely impacted the annual Shree Machail Mata Yatra, which draws thousands of devotees to the revered Chandi Mata Mandir in Machail, Paddar Valley. The pilgrimage route has been disrupted, leaving many devotees stranded.

Expressing his heartfelt condolences, Bali said,
"I extend my deepest sympathies to the families who have lost their loved ones in this tragic incident. I also pray for the swift recovery of the injured."

Bali appealed to the Lieutenant Governor’s administration, the National Conference-led government, and the central government to take all necessary measures for swift rescue, rehabilitation, and medical support. He urged authorities to shift critically injured victims to AIIMS Delhi for advanced treatment.

He also stressed the need for deploying additional resources to ensure the safe return of stranded pilgrims and immediate compensation for affected families. “It is imperative that we stand with the victims in their hour of need and provide prompt assistance to help them rebuild their lives,” he added.

JDU President G.M. Shaheen Meets Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; Demands Special Tourism Package for J&K

New Delhi:
Janata Dal (United) Jammu & Kashmir President, G.M. Shaheen, today met the Hon’ble Union Minister for Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, at his official residence in New Delhi.

During the meeting, Shaheen highlighted the urgent need for a special package for people associated with the tourism sector in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly those whose livelihoods have been severely affected in recent years.

He also urged the Hon’ble Minister to take up the matter of reducing airline fares to Jammu & Kashmir, noting that high ticket prices are discouraging tourists and affecting the state’s tourism-driven economy.

Shaheen further appealed for the promotion of newly identified tourist destinations in J&K and requested that the Kreri–Wagoora constituency be included in the official tourism map of the Union Territory, given its untapped potential for eco-tourism, heritage tourism, and cultural promotion.

The Hon’ble Minister gave a prominent assurance to address these issues and promised to consider the request for a special package for the tourism sector in J&K.

Shaheen expressed his gratitude to Shri Shekhawat for his positive and encouraging response, stating that such initiatives would significantly boost tourism and economic activity in the region.

JDU Jammu & Kashmir Delegation Meets Union Agriculture & Tourism Ministers in New Delhi

New Delhi, August 13:
A delegation of Janata Dal (United) Jammu & Kashmir, led by State President G.M. Shaheen, met with Shri Ramnath Thakur, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, and the Hon’ble Union Tourism Minister, to discuss key developmental issues concerning Jammu & Kashmir.

During the meeting with the Agriculture Minister, Shaheen highlighted the pressing challenges faced by the farming community in J&K, including lack of adequate irrigation facilities, post-harvest infrastructure, and market access. He urged the Union Government to introduce special agriculture schemes tailored for the region’s unique climate and topography, along with cold storage facilities and subsidies for modern equipment.

In his discussion with the Union Tourism Minister, Shaheen sought greater central assistance to boost J&K’s tourism sector, emphasising that world-class infrastructure, better connectivity, and nationwide promotional campaigns could transform the region into a global tourist hub.

> “Agriculture and tourism are the backbone of Jammu & Kashmir’s economy. Strengthening these sectors will not only create employment opportunities but also ensure long-term peace and prosperity in the region,” Shaheen said after the meetings.

*Ambedkar Samaj Party Holds Crucial Meeting at Headquarters in Srinagar, Highlights Issue of Rotten Meat Supply in Kashmir*

Srinagar, August 7: The Ambedkar Samaj Party today convened an important meeting at its headquarters in Srinagar, attended by Mr. Qazi Tariq Habib and Mr. Mehraj Afaq, both State Vice Presidents, along with State General Secretary Mr. Muhammad Yaqoob Dunoo. Following the meeting, party leaders addressed a press conference to raise serious concerns affecting the general public.

Speaking to the media, Vice President Qazi Tariq Habib emphasized that the party stands firm on its core slogan, "Mazloom Hamara Hai", meaning "We are the voice of the oppressed." He said the Ambedkar Samaj Party is committed to bringing attention to issues impacting marginalized communities across Jammu and Kashmir.

One of the primary concerns raised during the meeting was the increasing reports of rotten meat being supplied across the Kashmir Valley. The leaders alleged that certain suppliers are distributing substandard and unhealthy meat, posing a serious threat to public health.

“We urge the concerned departments to set up strict checkpoints and take immediate action to identify and arrest those involved in the supply of rotten meat,” said Mr. Qazi Habib. He called for cooperation between local residents and government agencies to curb this malpractice and ensure food safety for all.

The party further appealed to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor’s administration and relevant officials to halt the supply of such meat in the valley with immediate effect. “This issue reflects gross negligence by some officers. We request the authorities to act promptly,” said Qazi Tariq.

Reaffirming the party’s commitment to the oppressed and voiceless, the leaders encouraged people to support their movement and join the fight against exploitation and negligence. “Ambedkar Samaj Party will continue to be the voice of the people and will raise every issue that affects the common man,” the leaders concluded.

J&K National Conference Youth leader Tauseef Irshad Khan observed 5th August as Black day for Jammu and Kashmir

In a statement khan said 5th August – A Black Day in the History of Jammu & Kashmir and India

On this day in 2019, the BJP-led government unilaterally abrogated Article 370, dismantling the constitutional bridge between Jammu & Kashmir and the Union of India. What was once the crown of the nation was reduced to a Union Territory, stripped of its identity, dignity, and constitutional guarantees.
Jammu & Kashmir was not just a piece of land; it was a promise made by the founders of the Indian Constitution — a promise of autonomy, respect, and special status. That promise was broken on 5th August.
This day will forever remain a dark chapter — not only in the hearts of the people of J&K but also in the democratic history of India.
We will continue to raise our voice peacefully, democratically, and constitutionally for the restoration of full statehood and constitutional rights
