JK Apni Party DDC member booked for assaulting Tehsildar in Bandipora

Bandipora 04 July : The Jammu and Kashmir police have booked a district development council member of Apni Party from Arin panchayat block of North Kashmir's Bandipora district for allegedly assaulting and attacking a Tehsildar on Saturday.

Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that assistant commissioner revenue and Tehsildar Bandipora along with other officials were conducting a survey for construction of a road in Kudara village in Bandipora, during which DDC member from Arin constituency, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Rather attacked and assaulted Tehsildar Bandipora,

They said that police have registered a case FIR No. 107/2021 under section 307, 353, 392 IPC against the DDC member at police station Bandipora, and further into the matter has been initiated.

Notably, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Rather had won DDC election from Arin constituency as an independent candidate and later joined the Jammu and Kashmir Apni party. (KNS)

CRFF Sub-Inspector commits su***de in Anantnag

Su***de note reads, ‘I am afraid, I may have Corona’, No evidence he was infected with virus, Let’s wait for final report, says CRPF spokesman

Anantnag, May 12: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) sub-inspector Tuesday committed su***de after shooting himself with his service riffle at Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Identified as Fatah Singh son of Eidan Singh, a resident of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, he had left behind a su***de note that read: “I am afraid, I may have Corona.” Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Singh was posted with the 49th battalion of CRPF at Akura, Mattan, Anantnag district.

They said that soon after Singh fired at himself, his colleagues rushed to the spot and found him in a pool of blood. “They rushed him to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead,” the officials said.

A police official told KNO that they found a su***de note near the body of Singh that read: “No one should touch my body, I am afraid, I have corona.” A case has been registered and further investigation was taken up in this regard.

Station House Officer (SHO) Akura, Mattan police station Jazib Ahmed said that they have followed the Covid-19 protocol while dealing with the CRPF sub inspector. “His samples have been taken and post mortem conducted. Only results would confirm whether he was a Covid positive,” he said.

Talking to KNO, CRPF spokesman in Srinagar Pankaj Singh also confirmed the incident stating that the sub-inspector had returned to his unit after performing day long duty with the Naka party. “As such, there is no evidence that he had caught Covid virus. Let’s wait for the final report. Details will be shared with the media,” Singh said—(KNO)
