During next 6-8 hours rain/thunderstorms is expected at most places of Jammu and Kashmir.

Intense showers along with hailstorm and Gusty winds is expected at few parts.

Rain/ thunderstorm along with intense showers is likely to continue for the next 2-4 hours .

Dry weather is expected on tomorrow then followed by active Western disturbance from 18th April onwards.

Significantly rise in day temperature is expected. Both Max and min temperatures will rise .

So farmers are advised to resume farm or spraying operation from tomorrow.

There's a high risk of strong winds/windstorms over parts of Kashmir (especially northern, northeastern parts) for the next 2 days.

•Blizzards are expected over a few higher reaches such as Sonamarg and adjoining parts.

•Wind gusts are expected....To gust up to 45-60 km/h in some parts.Overall, peak wind gusts will remain below 25-30 km/h in the plains.However, areas near mountaineous regions may experience significantly higher gusts.

Note :

1) No continuous/widespread winds are expected.

2) These strong winds...
Are mostly expected during the daytime i.e between 12-6 PM, and they will mostly be short lived.

•Avoid standing near trees/electric poles during strong winds.

•Avoid trekking/hiking.

Caution : Weak tin roofs may be blown away by the strong winds in some parts.
