Sopore, April 20: A male dead body was found floating over water in Jhelum river was recovered by locals at north Kashmir’s Sopore town of Baramulla district on Saturday morning,

An official said that a male dead body was recovered by some locals at Kraltang area in sopore town today morning, who intimated the police about it.

Soon after intimation, a team of police reached the spot and shifted the body to DH Sopore for legal medical formalities.

He said a case in this regard has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.

Govt Transfers 16 Officers In J&K

Srinagar, June 21: Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday transferred an IAS and fifteen JKAS officers in the interest of administration with immediate effect.

According to a government order issued here, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan (IAS), Additional Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department, holding additional charge of Additional CEO, Jammu and Kashmir Land Records Management Agency, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Survey and Land Records, J&K, against an available vacancy. “He shall continue to hold the charge of the post of Additional CEO, Jammu and Kashmir Land Records Management Agency, in addition to his own duties, till further orders,” reads the order.

Rachna Sharma (JKAS) awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been posted as Special Secretary to the Government, Cooperatives Department.

Dr. Narupa Rai (JKA) awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been posted as Additional Registrar, Cooperatives, Jammu, against an available vacancy.

Abid Hussain (JKAS) Joint Director, Education (Central), Kashmir, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner in the office of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.

Babu Ram (JKAS) awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been posted as Additional Secretary to the Government, Labour and Employment Department.

Tazayun Mukhtar (JKAS) General Manager, DIC, Srinagar, has been transferred and posted as Joint Director, Industries and Commerce (S*M), Kashmir, against an available vacancy. “She shall also hold the charge of the post of Director, Industries and Commerce, Kashmir, in addition to her own duties, till further orders.”

Rakesh Kumar (JKAS), awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been posted as Additional Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department.

Masrat Hashim (JKAS), Registrar, District Srinagar, has been transferred and posted as Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Development Authority, Pahalgam.

“Syed Hanief Balkhi, ADC, Srinagar, shall hold the charge of the post of Registrar, District Srinagar, in addition to his own duties, till further orders,” the order said.

Sunil Kumar (JKAS), Additional Secretary to the Government, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, has been transferred and posted as Regional Transport Officer, Kathua (Har: Lakhanpur).

SrinagarJune 19 : Day after the Centre reportedly began sending feelers to political party leaders from Jammu and Kashmir for an all-party meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on June 24, as many as 14 leaders, including four former chief ministers of the erstwhile state, got calls from the Prime Minister’s Office today, sources said.

Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla reportedly reached out to these leaders to invite them to the meeting at the prime minister’s residence to discuss the future course of action for the union territory, the officials said.

National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah and son Omar Abdullah, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, and PDP chief Mehbooba M***i, were among those who got the call, sources said.

Four former deputy chief ministers of the erstwhile state — Congress leader Tara Chand, People’s Conference leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig, and BJP leaders Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta — too have been invited to the meet.

The meeting — the first such exercise since the Centre announced the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and its bifurcation into union territories in August 2019 — is likely to be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other central leaders.

When contacted, Omar Abdullah said that he had received an invitation and would go along the direction of the party chief. Sources in the National Conference said that over the next few days, the senior Abdullah will be holding consultations with party leaders. The Political Affairs Committee of the PDP would also be meeting on Sunday to take a decision about the talks.

Major Narco-terror module busted by Baramulla Police, 10 arrested;

Arms/ammunition, He**in, cash recovered and several vehicles seized

Baramullla June 19, CNS: Baramulla Police along with Army 3-Rajput and 53Bn CRPF have busted a Narco-terror module by arresting ten persons and recovered Arms/ammunition, 09Kg He**in and cash from their possession.

SSP Baramullla told CNS that On specific information, Baramulla Police along with Army 3-Rajput and 53Bn CRPF at a checkpoint established at Bandi Uri signalled a Maruti Swift vehicle to stopped, but the person driving the said vehicle tried to flee from the spot. However the alert joint party stopped the said vehicle tactfully in which three persons were travelling.

They have been identified as Sajid Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Nazir Shah resident of Lalpora Lolab, Kupwara, Sharafat Khan son of Lal Badshah Khan resident of Keran Kupwara and Shahid Hussain son of Wali Mohammad Rather resident of Khaipora Tangmarg.

During checking, the joint party was able to recover some quantity of contraband substance (He**in) and arms/ammunition along with cash from the said vehicle. All the three persons were arrested.

Upon questioning, the officers learnt that the said arms/ammunition & contraband substance (He**in) was received from across the LoC to provide aid to the Millitant outfits. The accused persons also disclosed that some deliveries had been taken by some other parties. As per their disclosure, special checkpoints were immediately established, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs/DySP PC Baramulla along with 52RR.

In such series of actions, following persons identified as Reyaz Ahmad Hajam son of Ali Mohammad Hajam resident of Yarikah Chadoora, Budgam, Adil Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Nemthal Chadoora Budgam and Angraz Singh son of Harjeet Singh resident of Chadharpur Tehsil-Ajnala, District Amritsar Punjab were tactfully arrested.One Hyundai Verna, Scooty, cash and some contraband substance (He**in) besides arms/ammunition were seized.

Police party from Baramulla headed by Addl. SP Baramulla and assisted by Jammu Police also arrested four more accused persons from Jammu. They have been identified as Raman son of Prem resident of Housing Board Colony Ferozpur Punjab, Rohit son of Gopal Chand resident of Bastia border road Ferozpur, Punjab, Krishan son of Vijay Kumar resident of Bastia border road Ferozpur Punjab and Fayaz Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Ashraf resident of Keran Kupwara. From their possession, Indian currency worth Rs.16 lacs were recovered and an Eicher Canter truck was also seized.

The total incriminating materials recovered from their instance includes 10 Chinese grenades, 04 Chinese Pistols, 04 Pistol Magazine, 20 Pistol rounds, Indian Currency Rs.21.5 lacs, He**ine 09Kgs (worth ₹45 crores) and 02 Cheques (Amounting Rs.100,000/-). Besides, 03 vehicles (Eicher Canter Truck bearing registration number PB13AR-8956, Hyundai Verna bearing registration number DL7CM-9873 and Maruti Swift bearing registration number JK01AP-0040) and a Scooty bearing registration number JK01AA-1827 were also seized.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 63/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Uri and further investigation is going on.(CNS)

The World Blood Donor Day was celebrated today on 16 June 2021 instead of June 14 due to prevailing covid conditions by Block Medical Officer ,Dr Masrat Iqbal in collebration with Department of Hematology & Tranfusion Medicine Governmnent Lal Ded Hospital Srinagar headed by Dr Javaid Ahmad, with the theme “Give blood and keep the world beating”

Camp was organized at Paribal Tarki BN. All the preparations like arrangement of beds, sanitation etc were made. A team of medicos including Dr.Syed Liyaqat Ali, Dr. Faizan Bashir , Dr. Abid & other paramedical staff headed by Block Medical Officer Bandipora were present.
The Blood Donation Camp continued till 2.00 pm. Almost 30 donors donated the blood.
Besides Blood donation , testing for Covid 19 & Vaccination was also done.

After that, the Chief Guest Dr Javaid Ahamd delivered the speech extolling those who had donated their blood. He talked about facts/ myths/ Blood Groups related information. He told the audience that the blood donation does not weaken the the donators and the donated blood would be used for saving the lives of the injured and the sick.

Non-Local Labourer Dies After Severe Chest Pain in Kulgam

Kulgam CNS, Apr 24: A 35-year-old non-local labourer from Bihar died on Saturday morning after feeling severe chest pain in Damhal Hanjipora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district.

Locals while talking to CNS said that the deceased was working as a welder and suddenly without falling ill for a prolonged period as he died shortly after feeling chest pain.

According to senior police official a labourer identified as Mohammad Azad Alam (35) son of Ghulam Mohiuddin of Bihar, who was working as welder at Bathipora, D H Pora complained severe chest pain and later died on way to Kulgam district hospital.

Although Alam was immediately taken to District Hospital Kulgam after complaining pain but he was declared brought dead on arrival by the doctors.

Officials added that the body of the deceased will be handed over to his legal heirs after completion of all medico-legal. (CNS)

National Commission for Minorities issued a notice to Ex-Waqf Chief Wasim Rizvi( Badbakhat) over his SC plea to remove 26 Quran verses.

The commission has asked Rizvi to withdraw his comments and tender an unconditional apology, failing which it will hold a hearing and direct authorities to take appropriate legal action against Rizvi.

The commission is of the opinion that the statement given by Rizvi appears to be a well thought out conspiracy to disturb the communal harmony of the country.The notice also said Rizvi’s statement violated IPC sections 153A, which relates to promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, and 295A, which relates to deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage reli­gious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or reli­gious beliefs.

Srinagar Police organised Drug Abuse & de-Addiction awareness programs in Sub-Division Kothibagh and Nehru Park

Srinagar 15th March 2021: Today on 15th March-2021 District Police Srinagar has initiated a drive/sensitization campaign in view of the growing menace of drug abuse and addiction especially among youth. The programme was started by distributing of informative stickers to make the general public aware about the ill-effect of drug consumption and drug peddling.

SDPO Kothibagh Ms Farhat Nishat- JKPS, SDPO Nehrupark Shri Sachit Sharma-JKPS along with concerned territorial officers visited some prominent places like S.P Higher Secondary School M.A. Road Srinagar, Biscoe School, Taxi Stands, Turf Ground TRC, Shalimar Market, Nehrupark Market of Srinagar and distributed the stickers among public and spread the awareness.

SDPO Kothibagh while interacting with the students at S.P Higher Secondary School M.A. Road, asked them to come forward to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from your society and have been asked to contact on the given help line phone numbers for any assistance and to come forward for any information of drug peddlers.
