District President Pulwama Indian National Congress, Umer Jaan, has strongly condemned the non-payment of long-pending work-done claims under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), which has pushed thousands of hardworking youth into severe financial distress.Javid Ahmad Dar sahib Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, directly accountable for this grave injustice.
“Despite completing their assigned works on time, these youth have been denied their rightful payments for years,” Umer Jaan said. “Many among them were compelled to take loans to execute these projects, and are now reeling under the burden of mounting bank interest. This is nothing short of financial harassment of our young workforce.”
He further questioned whether this was a mere administrative lapse or a deliberate attempt to frustrate and demoralize those striving to earn a dignified livelihood.
Calling for immediate intervention, Umer Jaan demanded that the Minister personally step in to ensure urgent clearance of these pending dues.
“This situation cannot be allowed to continue. If the government truly values youth empowerment, it must prove so in action — by releasing these payments without any further delay,” he asserted.
