Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Observed in Shopian; “Run for Unity” Organized by Shopian Police

Today, a nationwide observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was held to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the “Iron Man of India.”

On this occasion, a “Run for Unity” was organized by Shopian Police under the supervision of SSP Shopian, Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdhary. The run commenced from DPL Shopian and culminated at Old Bus Stand Batapora Shopian. The event aimed to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and reaffirm the message of unity and national integrity.

SHOPIAN POLICE ARREST TWO WOMEN DRUG PEDDLERS; HUGE QUANTITIES OF CANNABIS & CHARAS RECOVERED

During routine naka checking at Melhura Zainapora, two women moving under suspicious circumstances while carrying large bags were intercepted by the naka party. Upon search of these bags, 15 Kgs of crushed Cannabis and 1 Kg of Charas-like substance were recovered.

Shopian Police Arrested 5 Gamblers; ₹45,000 Stake Money and Playing Cards Seized.

Continuing its drive against social crimes, Shopian Police arrested five gamblers and seized ₹45,000 in stake money along with playing cards during a raid at Deegam Nagbal.
Acting on a reliable input, a police party from Police Station Shopian swiftly raided the gambling spot. Despite an attempt to flee, all five accused were apprehended on the spot.
