NGFOA Kamraj Bids Warm Farewell to Outgoing DFO Anurag Arya; Welcomes Owais Farooq Mir as New DFO Kamraj Kupwara

Kupwara: In a heartfelt and dignified farewell-cum-welcome function organized by the Non-Gazetted Forest Officers Association (NGFOA) Kamraj Kupwara, officers and staff of the Forest Department gathered to bid an emotional adieu to Anurag Arya, IFS, the outgoing Divisional Forest Officer and to warmly welcome Owais Farooq Mir, the newly posted DFO Kamraj Kupwara.

The event, hosted by Nazir Zengeri, witnessed the participation of senior officials, frontline staff, and dignitaries from various forest divisions. The atmosphere was filled with emotion, gratitude, and respect as speaker after speaker praised the leadership, humility, and dedication of Anurag during his tenure.

As the event concluded with the presentation of tokens of appreciation, handshakes, hugs, and collective photographs, there was an overwhelming sense of respect and unity. Staff members across ranks expressed their emotional farewell to Anurag Arya while extending full support to the new DFO.

The Kamraj Forest Division now steps into a new chapter under the leadership of Shri Owais Farooq Mir, with a renewed commitment to protect forests, empower staff, and uphold public trust in the department.

Sopore Police Attaches Property Used for Harbouring Terrorists.

Sopore, July 24, 2025:
In a major action under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Sopore Police today attached a residential property for its use in providing shelter and logistical support to terrorists involved in unlawful and anti-national activities.

The property comprises a single-storey residential house along with land measuring 3 kanals and 3 marlas, under Survey Nos. 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2018, situated at Reban Ramham, falling in the ownership of Javaid Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Rasool Dar, resident of Reban Sopore.

The attachment has been made in connection with FIR No. 133/2024 registered at Police Station Sopore under sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38, 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and section 7/25 of the Arms Act.

During the course of investigation, it was found that the said property was wilfully used for harbouring terrorists and facilitating their stay, thereby aiding the ex*****on of terror activities in the Sopore area. Acting on the gathered evidence, and after obtaining necessary approval from the competent authority, the said property has been attached as per legal provisions under UAPA.

Sopore Police reiterates its firm commitment to dismantling the terror ecosystem operating in the area by targeting not just the operatives but also those providing shelter, support, and resources to them.

The general public is once again advised to refrain from extending any kind of support—tangible or intangible—to terrorists or their associates, failing which strict action under the provisions of law shall follow.

🏆 Grand Football Final at Kachloo Qaziabad ⚽

A thrilling football final was witnessed today at Kachloo Qaziabad, drawing passionate crowds and vibrant energy across the valley. The event was graced by Hon’ble MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed Sahib as Chief Guest, whose presence inspired young hearts and added pride to the occasion.

While addressing the gathering, the MLA announced ₹5 lakh for the development of the Kachloo sports field, reaffirming his commitment to uplift rural sports infrastructure. He also urged the youth to shun online gaming and channel their energies into real-life sports and physical well-being.

DC B'la distributes sanction letters to 42 young entrepreneurs during Roz-e-YUVA programme

Baramulla, July 22: Jammu and Kashmir Bank today celebrated Yuva Day event ‘Roz-e-YUVA’ in District Baramulla under the J&K Government’s flagship initiative Mission YUVA (MY), aimed at empowering local youth through entrepreneurship and self-employment.

The Roz-e-YUVA event was held at J&K Bank Zonal office Baramulla which was presided by District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa and was attended by the ADC Sopore, S.A.Raina, LDM Baramulla, Manozoor Ahmad Sheikh, Assistant Director Employment, other senior administration and Bank officials.

During the event, the DC in presence of the other officers distributed loan sanction letters under Mission YUVA among 42 young entrepreneurs from district Baramulla to help them establish new ventures.

Meanwhile, 5 claims under PM- Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM- Suraksha Bima Yojana were also settled by J&K Bank and cheques worth Rs 2.00 lakh each were handed over to the next kin of the deceased person under the scheme.

Speaking on the occasion the DC urged the beneficiaries to utilize the financial support responsibly and effectively and channel these funds towards building sustainable and dignified livelihoods, not just for themselves, but for others around them.

The DC further emphasized that the Youth-led enterprises are the backbone of local development and by facilitating access to finance through Mission YUVA, we are not merely disbursing loans but investing in the future of our young entrepreneurs and the broader economic progress of the region.

Zonal head J&K Baramulla expressed his pleasure at the enthusiasm shown by the youth and reiterated that J&K Bank remains steadfast in supporting the Government’s vision of empowering youth through sustainable livelihood opportunities.
