In a remarkable display of spiritual unity across cultures, nine international devotees from six countries completed the sacred Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra this year via the Baltal route. Hailing from the , , , , , , and , the pilgrims successfully reached the Holy Cave Shrine, located over 12,700 feet above sea level in the of Jammu and Kashmir.
Among the group were Michaella Petra Dana and Jemima Croker (UK), Emily Sarah and Ross Norman (Canada), Anna Lena (Germany), Maria Isabel (Spain), Laura Eve (USA), John Joseph (Australia), and Svetlana (Estonia). Many described the journey as a deeply personal and long-awaited spiritual calling.
The pilgrims expressed profound gratitude for the warm and excellent arrangements provided by the administration, local authorities, and fellow , calling the experience “truly special” and “unforgettable.”

Over 3.52 lakh have undertaken the ongoing Amarnath Yatra so far, with another batch of 2,896 departing from to the , officials said. The Yatra, which began on July 3, has surpassed expectations, with over 3.50 lakh pilgrims participating in the past 21 days.
According to officials, the first escorted convoy of 42 vehicles carrying 790 pilgrims left for the camp at 3:30 a.m., followed by a second convoy of 75 vehicles with 2,106 pilgrims heading to the Pahalgam base camp at 4:18 a.m. The 'Chhari Mubarak' (Holy Mace of Lord Shiva) was taken to the historic Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar for the traditional ‘Haryali Amavasya’ Puja, led by Mahant Deependra Giri. On Friday, it was taken to the Sharika Bhawani Temple atop Hari Parvat for another customary ritual.
The will begin its final journey from Temple in on August 4 and reach the cave shrine on August 9, marking the official conclusion of the 38-day Yatra, which ends on and .

The government has approved key heritage conservation projects in Bijbehara, aimed at preserving the town’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy. These include the construction of a Yatri Niwas (pilgrim lodge) at the ancient shrine in Thajiwar village, held in high reverence by and the restoration of the historic memorial.
As per official order DAMA-435 of 2025, dated July 8, a budget of ₹4.17 crore has been sanctioned for the development of the Shiv Temple complex in , which will include a Yatri Niwas, a library, and a ghat. Separately, ₹40 lakh has been allocated under order DAMA-437 of 2025 for renovating the Lal Ded Shrine in ’s old town near and the Jamia Masjid.
Lal Ded, a 14th-century Shaivite saint and poet, is deeply revered in for her spiritual teachings. A site in Bijbehara is believed to be her resting place.
