Srinagar Police have arrested five persons in connection with a vi-lent a——lt incident that took place during the intervening night of 3rd and 4th August 2025 at Khayam Chowk, Khanyar.

The details of the arrested individuals are as follows:

1. Faheem Ahmad Khan, S/o Mohd. Ayub Khan, R/o Botshah Mohalla, Lal Bazar, Srinagar

2. Talat Hassan, S/o Ghulam Hassan Dhar, R/o Housing Colony, Chanapora, Srinagar

3. Nadeem Malik, S/o Bashir Ahmed Malik, R/o Natipora, Mehjoor Nagar, Srinagar

4. Amir Rashid Molvi, S/o Abdul Rashid Molvi, R/o Jogilanker, Rainawari, Srinagar

5. Mudasir Ahmed Sheikh, S/o Sheikh Nazir Ahmed, R/o Ikhrajpora, Rajbagh, Srinagar

Two vehicles used Mahindra Scorpio N and a Toyota Glanza — have also been seized, as part of the ongoing investigation. FIR Registered

“Toxic Shock in Classroom:
15 Girl Students Collapse After Acid Fumes at Khrew School”

Pulwama, July 28: Panic gripped the Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Khrew on Monday after a chemical reaction during a lab experiment caused toxic fumes to spread, leaving 15 students unconscious and others struggling to breathe.

Officials said the incident occurred during a routine chemistry practical when an acid container reacted unexpectedly, leading to chaos inside the laboratory. Several students collapsed on the spot, while others experienced panic attacks and severe distress.

The affected students were rushed to a nearby hospital, with some later referred to SMHS Srinagar. All are reported to be stable, according to BMO Pampore, Dr. Yusuf.

Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Basharat Qayoom, confirmed that a Magistrate and Tehsildar have reached the spot to investigate the cause of the mishap.
