This letter is from Hindustan Power Tech to the Executive Engineer, Sub-Transmission Division Ganderbal.
It is dated 5th October 2025 and requests a shutdown of the 33kV Lar/Tulmulla transmission line coming from Badampora grid station.

The shutdown is required because Hindustan Power Tech is working on the Srinagar Ring Road Project, where the existing 2-lane NH-1 from Sumbal to Wayul is being upgraded to a 4-lane road.
For shifting electrical utilities like poles and wires, the shutdown is needed on 9th, 14th, and 16th October 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The purpose is to safely complete the electrical shifting works within the Right of Way of NHAI.
Copies of the letter have also been sent to the Chief Engineer and Superintending Engineer for their information.

*Mega Financial Inclusion & Achievement Camp Organized at Ganderbal*

Ganderbal, Sept 26, :In a bid to promote financial literacy and expand the reach of social security schemes, the Lead District Office Ganderbal on Friday hosted a Mega Financial Inclusion and Achievement Camp at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ganderbal.

The programme was graced by Shri Abdul Gufran, Under Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, who attended as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Syed Faheem Bihaki, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, joined as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of bringing people into the ambit of social security schemes like PMSBY, PMJJBY, JDY, and APY. They urged the public to avail the benefits of these initiatives, which are aimed at safeguarding individuals and families against financial uncertainties.

A large number of participants, including ICDS Project Workers, NRLM Self Help Groups, and representatives from various government departments, reaffirmed their commitment to spreading awareness about financial inclusion and ensuring wider participation in the schemes.
The Chief Guest applauded the District Administration and the Lead District Office Ganderbal for their outstanding enrollment achievements under different financial inclusion schemes.

He also lauded the relentless efforts of CFL teams, banking officials, and line departments in connecting the common people with formal financial services.
The event drew enthusiastic participation from departments such as ICDS, NRLM, Handicrafts & Handloom, District Industries Centre, Health, AYUSH, Labour, Education, Food & Safety, as well as representatives from CFLs of Safapora, Kangan, and Ganderbal, FLCC Ganderbal led by Mr. Zahoor Malik, and Business Correspondents.

Ganderbal Murder Update (Sept 24):
Police have confirmed that 22-year-old Ajaz Ahmed Rather from Kangan was murdered by his friends, Niyazul Haq and Moieen, who strangled him with a wire and dumped his body in the Power Canal. Initially believed to be a drowning, CCTV footage and forensic evidence revealed it was a planned killing. Both accused are in custody. SSP Ganderbal called the incident a wake-up call for society. A murder case has been registered, and investigation is ongoing.

Residents of Chetergul kangan area of Ganderbal said that the dumping of Garbage waste near Road poses threat to public health, School going students and raises environmental concerns.

Locals said that the garbage is being thrown openly near road side and it is affecting the students, people of Chetergul kangan and other areas,”

They also said that the presence of huge garbage is attracting dogs and which can prove dangerous as dogs are also seen in groups at the garbage site.

“It has now become a favourite spot for stray dogs and they attack the students as the garbage is dumped nearby school They said.

Residents of the village expressed their concern saying, garbage here leads to the spread of infections. Moreover, dogs and other wild animals have started frequenting the area, posing a danger to the villagers, especially children.He said the segregation shed has already been built in the area but authorities did not dispose this garbage in that shed.

The villagers have urged the local administration to take immediate action against this issue of garbage and to ensure the well-being and safety of the community.
