Master Gh Hassan Wani, a respected figure of Imam Sahib and father of Advocate Gowhar Hassan Wani, passed away after a brief illness. He had been under treatment at SMHS Hospital Srinagar for the last five days. His demise has left the area in grief. Prayers were offered for his soul and patience for the bereaved family.

Elderly Man Injured in Bear Attack in Kulgam

Kulgam, Sept 16: A 60-year-old man was injured in a bear attack in Cheyan Adigam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday, officials said.

The injured has been identified as Abdul Majeed Teli, son of Abdul Gani, a resident of Cheyan Adigam. Officials said the incident took place when he was working in his orchard and was suddenly attacked by a bear.

He was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment, they added.

Meanwhile, officials from the Wildlife Department said a cage has been installed in the area to capture the bear and prevent further incidents. They also advised the public to remain vigilant during the ongoing harvesting season and urged orchard owners to clear bushes and dense vegetation to minimize the risk of wild animal attacks.
