Four Months’ Salary Pending, Aayas Association Urges Immediate Release of Dues
Kupwara: The DP Aaya Association Kupwara has urged the concerned authorities to immediately release the pending four months’ salary of Aayas, stating that the prolonged delay has caused serious financial hardships for employees and their families.
Association representative Ms. Zubeena Khan said that many Aayas are facing severe stress due to non-payment of wages, which has affected their ability to manage daily household expenses and support their families.
She appealed to the authorities to take the matter on priority and ensure the early clearance of pending salaries, saying that timely payment of dues would provide much-needed relief to the affected workers.

The Department of Horticulture, Kupwara today flagged off a Training/Exposure Visit of farmers under the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) – Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026-27.
The programme was flagged off by Chief Horticulture Officer Kupwara, Sandeep Sharma, in the presence of District Horticulture Officer Iftikhar Ahmad and other departmental officials. A large number of orchardists and farmers participated in the exposure visit.
Speaking on the occasion, the officers emphasized the importance of exposure visits in enhancing farmers’ knowledge, improving technical skills, and promoting the adoption of modern horticulture practices. The participating farmers will interact with experts and visit successful orchards to gain firsthand experience of advanced cultivation techniques, orchard management practices, and innovative technologies.
The Department reiterated its commitment to strengthening the horticulture sector in Kupwara by providing farmers with opportunities for learning, capacity building, and exposure to best practices. The initiative aims to improve productivity, quality, and income generation for the farming community across the district.
