Anantnag Police Launch Special Drive Against Traffic Violators; Offenders Seized & Challaned on the Spot Under the Motor Vehicle Act.

Municipal Council Anantnag (MCA), in collaboration with Traffic Police Anantnag, carried out an anti-encroachment drive against shopkeepers, illegal parking, and street vendors.

During the drive, DySP Traffic Peerzada Idrees appealed to the general public not to park their vehicles on roads, particularly on hospital routes, warning that violators would face fines as well as legal action.

Locals of Anantnag praised the District Police Anantnag and Station House Officer (SHO) Saddar Police Station, Mr. Majid Hassan Khan, for clearing encroachments and illegal roadside parking in the town, particularly at Mehandi Kadal, Lal Chowk, Janglatmandi, Sherbagh, Mattan Chowk, Cheeni Chowk, Malaknag, and Hazratbal — which are key ambulance routes to the Government Medical College and the Maternity and Child Care Hospital, Sherbagh. People also urged that the drive be sustained.

Anantnag Police has reportedly planned to impose fines, both during the day and at night, on illegal parking that causes traffic congestion on emergency hospital roads, as well as on shopkeepers and street vendors occupying footpaths and roads.
