Traffic Police Conduct Special Drive Against Violators in Sopore
Today, DySP Traffic Mujahid Nazir, along with his team, carried out a special drive against traffic violators in Sopore town.
Speaking about the initiative, DySP Nazir stated, “The primary objective of this drive is to raise awareness among the public about traffic rules and regulations. We have been regularly conducting such drives and issuing challans to those who violate traffic laws. Our aim is to reduce road accidents and ensure public safety.”
He further informed that several vehicles and bikes were seized during the drive, and strict action will continue to be taken against habitual offenders.
“In addition to enforcement, we are also organizing awareness camps to educate drivers on the importance of following traffic rules. Our goal is to ensure that people reach their destinations safely, without any inconvenience or accidents,” he added.
Expressing concern, he said that despite repeated warnings and fines, some individuals continue to disregard traffic laws. “If necessary, we will implement stricter measures, including the suspension of driving licenses and registration certificates (RCs),” he warned.
While a substantial amount has been collected in fines, DySP Nazir emphasized that revenue generation is not the priority. “Our focus is on saving lives and ensuring a safer road environment. We urge everyone to follow traffic rules, especially avoiding overspeeding, which remains one of the leading causes of road accidents,” he said.
The traffic department has reaffirmed its commitment to strict enforcement of traffic laws to maintain order and safety on the roads.
