Dr. Tariq Ahmad Shera Honoured with India Achievers Award 2026 for Social Activism

Jammu, August 3: Eminent socio-cultural activist Dr. Tariq Ahmad Shera has been honoured with the prestigious India Achievers Award 2026 in the field of Social Activism at a grand function held at the Writers Club, Jammu.

The award was presented by Padma Shri Dr. S. P. Varma, Padma Shri Romalo Ram, and eminent journalist Sohail Kazmi in recognition of Dr. Shera's outstanding contributions to social service, art, and culture.

Dr. Shera, who has previously received more than 20 national and international awards, was conferred with this prestigious honour for his unwavering commitment to social welfare, cultural promotion, and youth empowerment.

As the Founder and President of Angel's Cultural Academy and SKLCWS, Dr. Shera has provided a valuable platform for numerous talented youth from Jammu and Kashmir to showcase their skills and creativity. Under his leadership, the organisations have also conducted several healthcare camps, social awareness programmes, and cultural events aimed at promoting public welfare and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Expressing his gratitude after receiving the award, Dr. Shera dedicated the India Achievers Award 2026 to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He thanked them for their unwavering support, encouragement, and trust throughout his journey and reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving society through meaningful social, cultural, and humanitarian initiatives.

Shahr e Khaas Literary & Cultural Welfare Society & Angel's Cultural Academy Organize Free Eye Screening Camp in Kangan Ganderbal.

Kangan,31 July 2026– In a remarkable collaboration aimed at improving community health, Shahr e Khaas Literary & Cultural Welfare Society , Angel's Cultural Academy,Zariya The Unseen Hands & Shaheen Youth Club in partnership with Eye Centre for Sight Fazili Eye Care Centre, Srinagar conducted a Free Eye Screening Camp at Bismillah Optics,Kangan Ganderbal. The camp saw an overwhelming participation from the local community, especially senior citizens, who took full advantage of the opportunity to receive free eye checkups and consultations.

The event was organized with the primary goal of providing essential eye care services to those in need, ensuring that vision-related issues are addressed at an early stage. Dr. Tariq Ahmad Shera, the esteemed President & Founder of both Shahr e Khaas Literary & Cultural Welfare Society and Angel’s Cultural Academy, expressed his commitment to continuing such initiatives in the future. He stated, “This eye screening camp is just one of the many efforts we are undertaking to improve the well-being of our society. We are dedicated to organizing similar camps in the future for the benefit of our community.”

The camp was a huge success, with several senior citizens benefiting from free screenings and expert consultations. At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Shera honored the doctors from Cente for Sight Fazili Eye Care Centre,Srinagar and media persons with certificates of appreciation for their dedication and invaluable support in making the camp a resounding success.
