Apologise to the youths of kashmir Mehbooba Mufti

Renowned Social Reformer and Human Rights Activist Umar Bhat Slams Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Urges Her to Apologise to the Youth of Jammu & Kashmir

Renowned social reformer and human rights activist Umar Bhat has strongly condemned the remarks made by former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti regarding the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, stating that such statements deeply hurt the sentiments and dignity of an entire generation.

I strongly condemn such remarks and respectfully urge Mehbooba Ji to understand the aspirations, struggles, and ground realities of the youth of Jammu & Kashmir before making statements about them. Our youth are not militants. They are the future of this nation.

Umar Bhat said that the youth of Kashmir have dreams, aspirations, and the determination to contribute positively to society and the nation.

Kashmiri youth are patriotic citizens of India. They are working hard to build peaceful and prosperous lives for themselves, their families, and their communities. Many of our young people are actively contributing to nation-building in different fields and are always ready to serve the country with dedication and sincerity.

He further stated,Our youth do not need to be labelled. They need to be heard, understood, respected, guided, and empowered. Kashmir's young generation deserves opportunities, dignity, education, employment, and a peaceful future not words that create pain and alienation.”

Umar Bhat urged Mehbooba Mufti to reconsider her remarks and acknowledge the positive contributions of the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.

“I sincerely appeal to Mehbooba Ji, as a senior political leader and former Chief Minister, to come forward and apologise to the youth of Jammu & Kashmir if her words have hurt their sentiments. Our young generation deserves encouragement and hope. We must stand with them, listen to them, and help them become strong pillars of a peaceful and progressive India.”

Umar Bhat concluded Kashmiri youth are nation-builders, not militants. We will continue to raise our voice for their dignity, rights, aspirations, and a peaceful future.”

*Pakistan Must End Human Rights Violations in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) Social and Human rights activist Umar Bhat*

Umar Bhat strongly condemns the continued human rights violations, repression, and excessive use of force by Pakistani authorities against innocent civilians in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK).

Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir remains under Pakistan’s illegal occupation since 1947. The people living in these territories are entitled to fundamental human rights, democratic freedoms, and dignity. However, numerous reports from POJK indicate a troubling pattern of intimidation, arbitrary detentions, suppression of dissent, and the use of force against civilians who raise legitimate concerns regarding their rights and welfare.

Umar Bhat expresses deep concern over the worsening human rights situation in the occupied territory. Residents of POJK continue to face restrictions on freedom of expression, limited democratic participation, lack of transparency in governance, and curbs on peaceful protests. Such actions are inconsistent with internationally recognized human rights principles and democratic values.

It is unfortunate that instead of addressing the genuine aspirations of the people for development, justice, and political representation, the Pakistani establishment has repeatedly resorted to coercive measures and repression. The voices of ordinary citizens demanding accountability, economic opportunities, and better living conditions are being silenced through intimidation and force.

Speaking on the issue, Umar Bhat stated:

"We stand firmly in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Their suffering and grievances cannot be ignored. Every individual deserves the right to live with dignity, freedom, and justice. The international community must take serious note of the ongoing human rights violations and ensure accountability for those responsible."

Umar Bhat further called upon the international community, global human rights organizations, and democratic nations to closely monitor the situation in POJK and take appropriate steps to hold Pakistan accountable for violations of fundamental human rights.

He also demanded an immediate end to all forms of repression against civilians, the release of unlawfully detained individuals, the protection of fundamental freedoms, and the restoration of democratic rights and civil liberties in the occupied territory.

Umar Bhat reaffirmed his commitment to raising awareness about the plight of the people living under illegal occupation and pledged to continue advocating for justice, human dignity, peace, and the protection of fundamental human rights in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
