J&K Congress Cadre Expresses Concerns Over Pre-Poll Alliance Strategy

Srinagar, 13-10-2025 — Congress workers and cadre in Jammu & Kashmir have expressed concerns to the All India Congress Committee leadership, including Shri Rahul Gandhi LOP , requesting the constitution of a fact-finding committee to examine the circumstances surrounding the pre-poll alliance arrangements during the 2024 Assembly Elections.
The workers have brought to the attention of the central leadership certain procedural and strategic concerns regarding the decision-making process that led to the electoral understanding with the National Conference. They have expressed the view that the alliance arrangement may not have been in complete consonance with the organizational directives communicated by the party's central leadership.
Party sources indicate that the National Conference leadership had initially adopted a resolution to contest the elections independently, as documented in two executive meetings held at Nawa Suba Office in Srinagar. The subsequent reversal of this position and the eventual alliance framework, workers suggest, warrant closer examination in the larger interest of organizational transparency.
The workers have raised concerns about the role and decision-making processes adopted by senior state functionaries, particularly Shri Mir and Shri Karra, in facilitating the alliance negotiations. The J&K Congress cadre has expressed the view that these deliberations may have lacked adequate consultation with grassroot workers and may not have been entirely aligned with the strategic guidance provided by the AICC.
The Workers/leaders have conveyed their complete faith and confidence in the wisdom of the AICC leadership and Hon'ble Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji, while seeking an institutional mechanism to review the electoral strategy and ensure accountability in organizational decision-making.
