Sanitation workers and casual labourers staged a peaceful protest at the Municipal Committee Watergam, Rafiabad, demanding their regularisation. The protesting workers stated that they have been serving the department for nearly 15 years on a casual basis and have continued to perform their duties with dedication despite facing job insecurity and financial hardships.

The workers urged the government and concerned authorities to take immediate steps for their regularisation, highlighting that they have devoted a significant part of their lives to public service while being deprived of the benefits and security enjoyed by regular employees.

The protesters expressed hope that the administration would address their long-pending demand on humanitarian grounds and ensure justice for hundreds of workers and their families who depend on these jobs for their livelihood. They also appealed to the government to formulate a clear policy for the regularisation of long-serving casual labourers and sanitation workers.

Proud Moment for Team Warriors.

Team Warriors, under Chinar Yuva Dangiwacha and affiliated with the Taekwondo Association of District Baramulla, created history at the India Open International Taekwondo Championship 2026 held at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar.

Under the guidance of Coach Mohsin Ali, six athletes represented the team and achieved an incredible feat by winning 6 Gold Medals out of 6, competing against athletes from Nepal, USA, Thailand,South Korea, and Malaysia.
