Srinagar, July 4: The newly constructed cycling track at Foreshore Road in Srinagar, developed under the Smart City project to promote eco-friendly commuting and recreational walking, is now facing serious misuse.

In a video circulating on social media, illegal parking of private vehicles and the growing presence of unauthorized vendors can be clearly seen blocking the track near the Fire & Emergency Services area. This obstruction is causing major inconvenience to walkers and cyclists, who were supposed to benefit from this public facility.

Local residents and commuters have expressed frustration and called for urgent intervention from the SSP Traffic Srinagar and Srinagar Municipal Corporation. They demand immediate action to remove these encroachments, regulate parking, and preserve the track’s intended purpose.

The cycling track, a symbol of Srinagar's urban development and smart infrastructure, now risks becoming unusable unless strict enforcement measures are taken.
