Tiranga Mahotsav and Tiranga Yatra Rally was organised in Shopian as part of the Independence Day 2026 celebrations. The grand rally started from Sports Stadium Sindoo Shirmal and proceeded towards New Aglar Chowk Mandi. The event was held under the supervision of MLA Shopian, Deputy Commissioner Shopian and SSP Shopian, along with the heads of various government departments. School students, employees from different government departments, police personnel and local residents participated enthusiastically in the Tiranga Yatra. The rally reflected the spirit of patriotism, unity and national pride. Participants carried the Tricolour and raised patriotic slogans, spreading the message of unity and respect for the nation.

Congress Unit Shopian Holds Workers' Meeting at Reshipora Zainapora, Reaffirms Demand for Statehood

The Congress Unit Shopian organized a workers' meeting at Reshipora Zainapora under the banner "Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq" to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and discuss issues concerning the people.

The meeting was attended by Observer Shopian Zaffar Salatia, District President Shabnam Jan, senior leader Advocate Basit Bhat, and a large number of party workers and supporters.
