The Fitnah of Recording and Circulating Videos of Ulama and Mashayikh
A serious spiritual ailment has become widespread in our times. Whenever an ‘Aalim or a Shaykh is walking, sitting, or engaged in conversation, people take out their phones and begin recording. These recordings are then circulated on social media. This is not a harmless practice. Where such recording is impermissible according to Shari‘ah, it is necessary to refrain from it completely.
What is even more disturbing is that poetry written in praise of Rasulullah ﷺ is added to these videos of one’s Shaykh and then circulated. The poetry that was composed in honour and praise of the Beloved of Allah ﷺ should not be attached to the video of another person. Such a practice is contrary to the adab and reverence that is due to Rasulullah ﷺ.
Musliheen should take this matter seriously. If they notice someone engaging in such practices, they should advise and caution him at once. Remaining silent over such matters only allows the practice to spread further.
Our love for our Ulama and Mashayikh should be expressed through respect, obedience to Shari‘ah, and benefiting from their guidance, not by turning every moment of their lives into recordings for public circulation.
علماء و مشائخ کی ویڈیوز بنانے اور نشر کرنے کا فتنہ
آج کل ایک روحانی بیماری وبا کی طرح پھیل رہی ہے کہ علماء و مشائخ چل رہے ہوں، بیٹھے ہوں یا کسی سے گفتگو کر رہے ہوں، لوگ ان کی ویڈیوز بنانا شروع کر دیتے ہیں اور پھر انہیں سوشل میڈیا پر عام کیا جاتا ہے۔ یہ عمل شرعاً ناجائز ہے اور اس سے سختی کے ساتھ اجتناب لازم ہے۔
مزید افسوس ناک بات یہ ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ کی شانِ اقدس میں کہے گئے نعتیہ اشعار کو اپنے اپنے مشائخ کی ویڈیوز کے ساتھ لگا کر نشر کیا جاتا ہے۔ یہ نہایت بے ادبی کی بات ہے کہ جو اشعار محبوبِ خدا ﷺ کی مدح و ثنا کے لیے کہے گئے ہیں، انہیں کسی شیخ کی ویڈیو کے ساتھ جوڑ کر عام کیا جائے۔
مصلحین کی بھی ذمہ داری ہے کہ ایسے لوگوں کو بروقت تنبیہ کریں اور اس طرح کے ناجائز امور سے روکیں، تاکہ یہ فتنہ مزید پھیلنے نہ پائے۔
