Another Major Setback for Engineer Rasheed–Led Awami Itihaad Party

In a significant development, Javed Junaid Vani has officially resigned from the primary membership of the Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) and has also stepped down from his position as District President.

Explaining the reason for his resignation, Javed Ahmad Vani stated that his political ideology has always been firmly rooted in socialism and nationalism. He expressed disappointment, stating that he no longer sees any meaningful role, commitment, or reflection of nationalist and socialist principles within the Awami Itihaad Party.

“As socialism and nationalism remain my foremost priorities, I found it impossible to continue in a party where these ideologies have no visible presence or direction. Therefore, after careful consideration, I have decided to resign from the Awami Itihaad Party,” he said.

This resignation is being viewed as another major jolt to the Engineer Rasheed–led AIP and has sparked discussions within political circles regarding the party’s ideological direction and internal challenges.

Umer Wani: A Moment That Changed His Life

I was in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi, during peak summer. One day, in a nearby park, I saw a group of poor children playing football barefoot on the burning ground. Their football was made of old cloth. A few steps away, well-off children were playing comfortably, wearing proper shoes, T-shirts, and caps.

Those poor children weren’t complaining, they were only watching. That sight broke my heart.

I couldn’t ignore it. I helped them into a rickshaw and took them to the Central Market in Lajpat Nagar. With whatever I could afford, I bought them slippers and shoes. They were non-Muslim children, but at that moment, all I saw was humanity.

That night, I saw a dream. I was standing among lush green mountains, and from within them appeared a radiant, glowing face. Then I heard a voice saying:
“I am Muhammad ﷺ. I am pleased with what you did.”

Alhamdulillah, this was one of the most powerful moments of my life. It reminded me that even a small act of kindness, done sincerely, can be deeply meaningful, and that compassion knows no religion.
