According to an order issued by Govt of India Vide F No 8-26/2022-Estt dated 16-01-2023, Er Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi, BJP Senior leader and Executive Member of Working committee for BJP unit of UT of J&K has been appointed/nominated as Member of National Commission for Minorities representing UT of J&K at National level.
Worth to mention that the pannel members from different States and Union Territories have the advisory role regarding various issues faced by minorities of that particular state/UT with the probable suggestions for resolution of these problems.

Gayoor, by profession as a Civil engineer, is an acknowledged Social & Political activist had already served for three years as an Executive Council Member for Islamic University of Science & Technology, Awantipora and his contribution and dedication have earned him high regards & respect.

Worth to mention here that the BJP had recently nominated Er Showkat Gayoor as en Executive member of working committee for J&K as well.

Er Gayoor, the Chairman of Gayoor Foundation, a renowned and noted organisation meant for promotion of Social Justice, Art, Culture and Literature has been tirelessly working for uplifting of poor, down trodden and ignored classes of the society, has been rewarded for noted social work for minorities and backward classes. People in general have expressed their happiness for his nomination as Member of Minority Commission, Govt of India and hope that their pending issues will find a solution with his intervention.

R-Day: ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar Gets President’s Police Medal For ‘Distinguished Services

Srinagar, Jan 24 : Additional Director General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar (IPS) has been awarded President’s Police Medal for “distinguished services” on January 26.
The president’s police medal for distinguished services is the highest service medal for police and CAPFs. It is awarded for long and distinguished service to individuals who have served at least 25 years in the State/Central police or in security organizations.

An IPS officer of 1997 batch, Kumar earlier served in different capacities on the various posts in Kashmir region. He has also served in CRPF on central deputation as DIGP New Delhi Range, IGP and IGP Chhattisgarh.

Recently, the Election Commission of India has awarded him the prestigious National Award for his role as chief force coordinator of CAPFs in providing safe environment for conducting assembly elections of nine states in 2018.

Kumar is also recipient of several Gallantry Medals, Meritorious Service Medal, National Award by the ECI and Commendation Cards/Discs by the COAS, GoC-in-C (Northern Command), DG CRPF and DGP J&K.(GNS)
