Advocating a broad-based consensus that rises above political affiliations and partisan interests, the PDP chief stressed that the restoration of dignity, security and constitutional rights of the people requires constructive engagement with New Delhi.
“The time has come to make a united outreach to the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Home Minister and impress upon them the need for a sustained dialogue with the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” she said in the letter.
Mehbooba emphasized that the initiative should not be viewed through the prism of political credit or partisan gain but as a collective effort aimed at addressing the aspirations and concerns of the people. She urged all political, social and community leaders to set aside differences and work together towards securing a dignified and lasting framework within the Union of India that safeguards the constitutional rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
