Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic), City Srinagar, Aijaz Ahmad on Wednesday said that concrete measures are being taken to decongest Srinagar city and streamline traffic movement, asserting that no vehicle (Sumos & Taveras) from outside Srinagar is allowed to enter Srinagar city. DC Ganderbal takes project-wise review of the performance of Agriculture & Allied departments

Approves 234 cases under JKCIP scheme

GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a comprehensive meeting to conduct a detailed, project-wise review of the performance of Agriculture and Allied Departments in the district.

The meeting assessed the progress achieved under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Kissan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs), and the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) schemes.

During the meeting, the District Nodal Officer, HADP, presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting achievement made during the current financial year 2025–26. The presentation covered output tracking status, progress under Daksh Kisan, financial expenditure under HADP, farmer registration and e-KYC through KKGs, credit application status, JKCIP progress, Kisan Sathi activities, and other related components.

DC reviewed achievements made so far and identified gaps in implementation. He directed the concerned departments to take proactive measures to bridge deficiencies and ensure maximum farmer coverage and ensure maximum unit establishment at the earliest.

DC emphasized the need for close monitoring of output tracking and instructed departments to reduce the gap between enrolment and course completion under the Daksh Kisan initiative within a stipulated timeframe. Regarding Level-2 and Level-3 registrations, he directed officers to intensify efforts, set department-wise targets, and ensure substantial progress.

He further directed departments to entertain new applications under JKCIP and clear all under-process cases by December 31.

DC also instructed departments to significantly improve expenditure levels under agriculture-related schemes. Lead District Manager was directed to ensure disposal of pending credit applications at the bank level.

Later, Deputy Commissioner reviewed and accorded approval to cases submitted under JKCIP. After a thorough evaluation, he approved a total of 234 cases under the scheme.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat/ Development, Chief Agriculture Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Animal Husbandry Officer, Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Area Marketing Officer Horticulture (P&M), District Nodal Officer JKCIP, and Cluster Head, J&K Bank.

DC Ganderbal reviews arrangements for Republic Day-2026 celebrations

Directs to ensure fool-proof and meticulous arrangements for befitting celebration of the National Event

GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a comprehensive meeting to review and finalize arrangements for the forthcoming Republic Day-2026 celebrations in the district.

DC conducted a detailed review of all key preparations to ensure a successful and well-coordinated event. The arrangements discussed included preparedness of the main venue, podium and stage setup, security and traffic management, seating and transportation facilities, barricading, uninterrupted power supply, stationing of water tanker and ROs, parking, deployment of ambulance and medical staff, deployment of fire tenders, PAS system, sanitation, refreshments, and decoration of prominent buildings.

It was informed that the main function will be held at Qamaria Stadium, Ganderbal, where the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest.

The programme will feature a ceremonial march past by contingents of the District Police, CRPF, Armed Police, IRP, PTS Manigam, Forest Protection Force, along with students from various educational institutions.

DC also emphasised proper arrangements be made for a vibrant cultural performances on the occasion of Republic Day.

He stressed the need to ensure fool-proof and meticulous arrangements for the befitting celebration of the nation event.

DC also directed that flag unfurling ceremonies be carried out across all government offices in the district prior to the main function to mark the occasion. He further emphasized the importance of the National Flag unfurling and instructed officers to ensure strict adherence to the Flag Code and the National Anthem protocol.

The meeting stressed cleanliness, proper illumination of Mini-Secretariat and other government offices. Special emphasis was laid on public convenience, smooth crowd management, and emergency preparedness.

Departments were assigned specific responsibilities, and monitoring committees were constituted to oversee ex*****on on the ground and ensure timely completion of all arrangements.

Additionally, DC directed to ensure that Republic Day celebrations at subdivision and tehsil levels are organized smoothly.

Meanwhile, the Mechanical Engineering Department, Municipal Council Ganderbal and other agencies were directed to ensure snow clearance beforehand at main and other function venues in case of snowfall for hassle free celebrations.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Fahim Bihaqi; Additional SP Ganderbal,
Superintending Engineer R&B, SDM Kangan, Assistant Commissioner Development/Panchayat, Chief Medical Officer, CEO Municipality, Executive Engineers of various wings, ARTO and other concerned officers and officials.

Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore: District Administration Ganderbal organizes Workshop on Good Governance Practices & Vision 2047

GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 23: As part of the ongoing 'Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore' campaign under Good Governance Week-2025, the District Administration Ganderbal today organized a comprehensive workshop on Good Governance Practices and Initiatives in the District Ganderbal.

The workshop aimed at deliberating upon effective governance mechanisms and preparing a visionary roadmap for the district’s holistic and sustainable development in alignment with the national goals of Vision 2047.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, who was chief guest in the event in his address highlighted the objective of the workshop, emphasizing the need for innovative approaches and community-driven solutions to achieve sustainable development goals.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Fahim Bihaqi; General Manager DIC, Additional Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat/ Development, and other panelists and departmental heads, district officers and officials were present in the event.

In his Address, DC stated that the Vision 2047 document would serve as a comprehensive blueprint for transforming Ganderbal into a model district that effectively balances development with environmental and social sustainability.

The workshop held detailed discussion on preparing a Vision Document for the District Ganderbal for the year 2047, District @100.

During the workshop, panelists and representatives from various departments engaged in detailed discussions on key sectors critical to the district’s long-term growth. The participants shared insights, experiences, and strategic recommendations across a wide spectrum of development themes.

Key subjects deliberated during the workshop included Education and Skill Development, Environmental Sustainability, Youth and Sports Development, and sharing of Good Governance Practices and Initiatives.

They shared valuable perspectives and reaffirmed their commitment to collaboratively work towards achieving the envisioned goals for the district.

The Vision 2047 document will function as a strategic guide for the district administration with clearly defined goals, milestones, and actionable steps. It aims to position Ganderbal as a model district excelling in education, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and social equity.

A film on 24*7 Water Supply by Jal Shakti department Ganderbal was also screened on the occasion.

The workshop concluded with a Question-Answer session, during which audiences posed questions to the participating panelists which were answered to their satisfaction.

Additional Deputy Commissioner in his Vote of Thanks lauded the panelists for presenting thoughtful ideas for the overall development of Ganderbal district.

GANDERBAL POLICE HOLDS ONE-DAY SEMINAR ON “GENDER SENSITISATION AND CRIMES AGAINST WOMEN

In a proactive initiative aimed at strengthening gender-sensitive policing and addressing crimes against women, Ganderbal Police organised a One-Day Seminar on Gender Sensitisation and Crimes Against Women at the Conference Hall, District Police Office (DPO) Ganderbal. The seminar was chaired by SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS and was attended by senior police officers of the district.

During the seminar, various forms of crimes against women, including r**e, domestic violence, sexual harassment, dowry-related deaths, kidnapping, and cyber crimes, were discussed threadbare. The deliberations focused on understanding the nature of such crimes, improving preventive strategies, ensuring prompt registration and investigation of cases, and adopting a victim-centric and legally sound approach.

Addressing the participants, *SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS* emphasized the importance of gender sensitisation within the police force and reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against women. He directed the officers to take firm, timely, and effective action against offenders and stressed the need for sensitivity, empathy, and professionalism while dealing with women victims.

*SSP Ganderbal* further highlighted the role of awareness, community engagement, inter-departmental coordination, and regular monitoring in curbing crimes against women and ensuring their safety and dignity.

Ganderbal Police reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safe, secure, and respectful environment for women and to ensuring justice through effective law enforcement across the district.
